Dear Prince, NPGMC and all Staff from Xenophobia Celebration
Just arrived back in Switzerland, and my first thing is to write you an mail for thanking! This Celebration was a bomb!!!
It was perfect to hear Prince and all other bands in the paisley park for 7 days. I hope Prince will publish through npgmc some downloads from this week.
Also I have to thank for the nice days of wild cd which is also a bomb.
Thanks again and I hope for c ya all in the next year for another celebration.
Kind regards
Marco
I just got back today after a 20 hour drive back to Maryland and the
whole time I was driving I could not stop thinking about all that I was
blessed to have been a part of. Words cannot express all of the emotions that
came to light for me during the celebration. I would like to thank U, Prince,
for inviting the family over to hang out and gain more knowledge from you and
everyone else. When I got to Paisley Park, I knew that I wanted to do a few
things and they were to meet new people, make new friends, here what others
have to say about "The Truth" and have fun. I was able to do them all without
any obstacles. I was truly amazed at the amount of diversity I was able to
witness and take part in. Prince, you truly are blessed. You also have THE
BEST staff anyone could hope for. Everyone was very pleasant and hospitable.
Your security people were absolutely wonderful and very patient. Trevor,
Logan, Charles, Sherrod; everybody I can't name them all but they are
GREAT!!!! But, I think the best overall was Laura, she kept everyone happy
outside with the help of Damon and Adonis. She is wonderful!!! I must say
another beautiful moment was watching "Mommy Mani" with all of the children,
not just the employees' kids but everyone who came and brought their children
too. You can truly see her love of children by watching her interact with
them. This was my first celebration but definitely not my last.
Blessed Be,

This was quite an xperience. 7 days and nights interacting with people from all over the world - all ages, races, genders, styles, and personalities all came 2gether under one roof 4 one week. Where else can u c such diversity? Eye mean truly a diverse crowd. And they all agree that Prince is worth coming 2 experience live. So that's a start, and we can add more and more until we truly become one. It gives me hope.
The days we spent just hanging around Paisley, checking out the museum and Studio B talking with the various staff members around. Everyone was super-friendly and polite. And Sam even took my photo 4 the website. At night we got 2 taste musical treats only dreamed about. Eye never, ever thought eye would hear "Elephants & Flowers" live. And in such a cool, chill way. Talk about the everlasting now, that is a moment eye want 2 relive.
Thank u 2 all the great staff and per4mers who made this the best Celebration yet. Eye have no idea how next year can top it.
peace,
Divinity
Just made it home last night from the celebration and wanted 2 write and
thank u for an amazing week @ Paisley Park! It was everything I
imagined and more! Thanks so much 4 letting the "fams" in2 your house
4 a week of funky fun and fellowship (sorry about messing up your
parking lot)! I loved the daily workshops, the outside activities w/
Damon and especially hanging with Femi in the studio listening to your
music while he answered all of our silly questions... so very cool!
The final night concert reminded me of the end of summer camp when I was
a kid... I truely didn't want it 2 end. The challenge 4 me now is 2
take what I learned from the entire week and the spirit I felt @
"Xenophobia" and incorporate that positive vibe into my life 2day and
everyday! Thanks 4 the "homework" and I hope to join u again next year
because truely... "it aint over"!

Thank you to everyone for the great week!
Thanks to Damon and the rest of the crew outside for turning the hot sun and slow lines into a great time for all. Thanks to the security team for their efficiency, respect, and tolerance. Thanks to all the Paisley staff for making this happen. Thanks to the fans and fams for being like family.
Thanks so much to Prince for putting this on and bringing us all together, for introducing us to so much talent and new music, and for sharing his world with us. I have come to look forward to June with an anticipation I haven't felt since I was a child waiting for Christmas.
Maceo and his band (always amazing), Sheila E (truly a beautiful human being - her workshop and show were a revelation), Victor Wooten (absolutely awsome), Norah Jones (beautiful), Bernard Allison (a delight), Musiq (front row! - what a soul jam) and Rachelle Farrell(truly an inspiration). And each one followed by Prince in a form and setting unequaled by anything I have ever seen. One Night Alone jams, old school jams and songs I never thought I would hear performed live, funk to the hilt, an ACOUSTIC SET (oh my oh my) and jazz jams, the rock guitar set from... (Bambi! Whole Lotta Love!..), intimate piano moments, and long soul jams. Words cannot describe.
This was my third Celebration and I must say - it just keeps getting better and better! I always come home inspired and refreshed - with new creative energy (banging out music in my garage) and spiritual strenth (striving to live my live as fully and positively as possible.)
And to beat it all Thursday was my 15th wedding anniversary, my wife flew in and joined me on Tuesday and by luck of the draw for Wednesdays show we were front row (standing at the stage) - as Wednesday night turned to Thursday morning, Prince, jamming on his tele strolls over to our side of the stage and gives my wife and I a huge grin. Bless you.
Thanks again Prince. I'll see you next year.
Live 4 Love,

Well, let me tell you first and foremost I have never posted anything before
but, I just had to tell Prince THANK YOU. Thursday night I was in the front
row for the last song and was being crushed by someone behind me and Prince
came to my rescue MY HERO. I had a GREAT time and learned a lot. Thank You
once again looking forward (already) to next year.
Peace and God Bless.

Prince, Mani and the rest of Paisley Staff (you know who you Are)
As always this was a very interesting week for all. We not only made friends we made family. It was hot, there was so much rain and there was so much love from everyone that it was unbeleivable. Prince you are truly respected and blessed for everything you doand there is no performance that tops yours. "Mommy Mani" you have the gift of drawing kids close and you took time with all of the kids out there, your kindness shows and the kids felt like they were at home.I know mine kept asking for you. :) The rest of the staff all of you were so kind to us all we can do is smile :) "You are truly great. And last but not least, the fams were so wonderful we want to thank all of you for the kind words, the thank you's, the hugs, the cards, the flowers, the many trips to the store for us, the security (Frank & Deserea) you kept all of us going. Thank you for participating in the outside events you all were wonderful. We really enjoyed watching you dance in the water. The warm reception we received when we came to the picnic was very touching. To make it short there are so many things that we are thankful for the list goes on and on. So one big hug and one huge Thank You to all of you.

I've never before had such a deeply touching musical experience as I had on the final night of Xenophobia. The spiritual message of the music literally brought tears to my eyes. God touched me that night in a way that I haven't been touched for a long time.
Thank you to Prince, NPG, Rachelle, Musiq, and Larry for carrying such a powerful and soulful message. I love you guys! And now, once again, I believe and love God. (tears are running down my face - again.)
Thank you all!
Hi Paisley People,
I have just got back to England from the celebration and want to send my thanks to you all for working so hard and being so polite. What a week. I never thought I'd be able to say I'd been to the movies with Prince.
During the flight home I was thinking surely this event should go down in music history, seven nights of slamming live music by one artist. Not many artists would have enough material or energy to play past Sunday.
If it doesn't, this must reflect on the state of todays music industry.
Prince keep standing up and speaking out for what you believe in. Tomorrows musicians will be grateful you were there fighting for them.
When I was leaving Chanhassen I heard someone say they were never coming to another celebration. They said you made them feel uncomfortable with the musical content and dialogue on the last night, saying you should just have partyed so we all left on a high (they left early as you were gettin to 'em).
I think it is good you are challenging me and others, making us face upto what the world is becoming through our actions. Keep true to yourself.
By the way it's "money didn't matter yesterday and it sure don't matter tonight".
Hope this makes sense as I'm suffering from severe sleep deprevation right now.
Thanks for a wonderful celebration.
Love Alli.

Thank You. there are so many things to say about this past week I wouldn't know where to begin. The first nite you called this place SurrenderLand, once that was done you helped me process alot of emotion that I wasn't able to surrender to. Your music has always helped along my journey.Thank you!
Thank You Music Club! I have never been surrounded by so much unconditional love, words can not express my hearts thanks. I feel so blessed.
I now know what LoveSexy feels like.
me
I do not know where to begin. I had a hard time leaving my 3 year-old daughter for the first time for an entire week but once I got to Paisley and starting meeting people from all over the world I knew it was going to be an experience of a lifetime. There was much love from the fans and all of those who work at Paisley. It felt like being welcomed into someone’s home. I have met some wonderful people that will be lifelong friends. So thank you Prince for bringing us together.
I was a little concerned about some of the opening acts during the week since I had not heard their music before but they were all spectacular. I can't wait to get their cd. They all moved in different ways due to their great individuality and style. It was an emotional roller coaster that started with Sheila to the last night with Rachelle, which moved me to a new place. I tried to hold back the tears but there was so much love I couldn’t do it. Even trying to put this report together is hard without crying tears of joy. I had a wonderful time and still can’t believe that the week is over. I had 2 of my 3 wishes granted which is fine by me (maybe next year I will get my third wish).
One of the best moments of the week was that my new friend that I meet for the first time there in Minneapolis which I shared a room with for the week had one of her dreams come true and that was to sing on stage with you, which she did the last night (it took her hours to get off of her emotional high).
Thank you Prince from the bottom of my heart for everything.
and a big
Thank you
to all of those hard working wonderful people at Paisley. I hope you do it again next year and if so I will see t you then.
Much love

And on the 7th day there was agreement. People from all over the world
became a whole lot closer on Thursday night as Prince and "the Band"
challenged our minds and lifted our spirits to the highest of highs. A high
that can only be found when know your creator and can call his name. A high
that is a Love Supreme; a love that is so cool that there is no black or
white, rich or poor, American or foreigner. Your equality is based solely on
your willingness to listen to God's voice and surrender your heart to his
blessings. There is no more fear, no more need to hide, we can be what we are
intended to be. This high is leaves you in a state of "Love4Oneanother." I
think I can safely claim that everyone with a soul came away from Xenophobia
this week with the feeling of this "high." In this we can find agreement.
Words fall short of truly expressing my appreciation of Prince and Mani for
allowing this event to take place and for showing so much courage and love.
You both are inspirations. 7 beautiful days and nights of music, love, and
joy. Music for my "groove on," love for my "people," and joy for my heart.
Simply put, this year's event was unbelievable. To put it in Atlanta
terms- "P" showed out! Check the joints: Joy in Repetition, Power Fantastic,
Still Waiting, With You, Days of Wild, Dolphin, Paisley Park, Don't Play Me,
the Truth, (Led Zeppelin's) Got Whole Lotta Love, Xenophobia, (New) Prince &

Sunshine when She's Gone, Avalanche, God, Here On Earth, Something in the

"P"!
"I don't care about the connections U got, I got connections too!"-Prince,
Wednesday night.
..We should all give thanks. I have to give thanks to all the wonderful
musicians who took time out to share with us their talents. Maceo Parker,
Sheila E, Norah Jones, Victor Wooten, Bernard Allison, Musiq Soulchild, and
the inspirational Rachelle Ferrell. All showed how diverse music can be and
still be exciting. Big props to the musician workshops. They helped us
understand the hard work and discipline it takes to make "real" music. We
must have these sessions again. Thank you Eric Leeds, my hero, for your time
talking to me-you are the reason I picked up a saxophone! Renato, thank you
for the passion you show for your craft, you are incredible. Greg Boyer &
Najee- your horns keep blowing my mind! John Blackwell, you know Atlanta has
your back!- your family is beautiful, thanks for the "pancakes" conversation
at Perkins. Rhonda Smith, thank you for your kindness and your hugs.-your
bass was so mean the other night that I had to call my momma long distance
and tell her about your funk! (Good God!) Larry & Tina Graham, I can merely
say that I am blessed to be in your presence. Thank you for the knowledge.
"Real music, by real Musicians"
..And the "family" grows. Each year of the Celebration Event, I am able to
spend time with some unbelievable people. Some of the people are staff,
musicians, security, or "fams" like me. There are old friends and of course,
new ones found. I would be remiss if I did not show love to the following
people: Damon Dickson, used to my friend, now you are my brother and
mentor-without you I would have no peace of mind; thank you for your ear. The
one and only "Superman," you have no limits-mad props to you and your crew, I
WILL stay in touch. Morris Hayes, thanks for the cool. Kip Blackshire, I
missed you, but I didn't forget you-Peace brother. Shane, thanks for keeping
Paisley Park secure, your the man- I will look for the new CD soon. Trevor &
the rest of the Paisley staff (including retail), great job (despite the
heat!) of taking care of us. Samnation, you are STILL the hardest working man
on the net; get some rest-you deserve it. To Laura and all the volunteers,
thank you so much-you are appreciated. To the new friends: Ann Marie from LA,
Dianne from London, and Jan (or Jen) from Boston, Nice to meet you! Thank U
NPGMC for making Xenophobia a huge success! (It ain't over!- Maceo, can U
play a little 'mo?!)
...I never had to walk alone. I have to give an extra special thanks to the
"Prince quartet" or simply put- my travel buddies. Lynn Patterson from LA,
you are the funniest, sweetest, girl I know. Glad to have shared this
experience with you. One day you will laugh at my jokes! Darrel "Uncle D"
Brown from the ATL, play on player-you know we got to do year 4 next year!
Lastly, big love goes out to NY's own Serona Elton, AKA Wonder Woman for
having the biggest heart a person could ever know. Thank U so much for having
patience, giving me a new point of view, and keeping me on schedule for the
workshops. I hope your feet stop hurting from walking "the green mile" to our
car every night, and you get some rest. Thank you also for stopping by at the
airport (too sweet), you are my favorite person in the whole world! :)
Prince & Paisley Park, Thank U, Thank U, ThankU! See you soon.

NPG,
I was only able to attend 3 nights of Xenophobia and I wanted to express my
appreciation for your hospitality. The word hospitality comes from the Greek
work Philoxenia which literally means "love (affectionate form of the word
love) of strangers" and it's the perfect antidote to Xenophobia which means
"hatred of strangers". The only way to counteract evil is to express love and
as a new NPG Music Club member I appreciate your kindness in opening your
doors to allow us access to Paisley Park as welcomed guests.
There were so many highlights to my weekend. Driving to Minneapolis from
Chicago the anticipation was too much and the excitement grew as I caught
sight of Paisley Park on Friday night. Walking in to see Maceo Parker was
already playing was awesome and when Prince came onstage I couldn't believe I
was actually there. I listen to The Rainbow Children all the time but I
didn't know what to expect from a live performance and I was delighted at how
interactive it was. Prince spoke to the audience and invited people onstage
to dance and was friendly and funny. My feet were killing me from standing
for so long but I only felt the pain when Prince left the stage and it was
gone when he returned.
Sheila E. was extraordinary Saturday night to play for over 2 hours in the
sweltering heat. My respect for her as a performer skyrocketed and I hope she
and her band felt the love in the room that night. I would have totally
understood if they cut it short due to the heat but they played and played
and played. Thank you Sheila! I really enjoyed her workshop too and never
realized how much musicians go through physically and what a beating their
bodies take when they're performing.
There's a few people in this world whose voices are so distinctive that I
could listen to them forever and Larry Graham is one of those people. When I
was a child growing up in Chicago we didn't have much and I was given an
album that someone was throwing away (I won't admit to pulling it out of the
garbage unless someone claims to have seen me) and it was Sly and the Family
Stone. I cherished that album even though I didn't even have a record player
and I used to stare at the cover just willing them to come to life and sing
to me. Seeing Larry Graham live, in person was like meeting an old friend
from a lifetime ago.
Prince,
On a personal note...years ago I used to listen to your music but in 1985 I
found "the truth" and got rid of all of your music which broke my heart at
the time but in my mind I knew it was the right thing for me to do. I was
trying to learn to follow Bible principles instead of following people and
since you were definitely an idol in my mind I had to let it go. The
endearing way that Jehovah God appeals to mankind for their obedience was a
great motivater though so for everything I gave up I gained something even
better; a relationship with the Sovereign of the Universe and his son Jesus
Christ as well as a united, international brotherhood. I heard a while ago
that you also found "the truth" and I was thrilled to hear recently that you
got baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Welcome to the family! Sunday
night you talked about how your father always said that change is good and
that in the past 2 years your life has changed and when you asked "How you
like me now?" the pure joy I felt made me laugh out loud. I loved it when you
said the Bible is the only book you read. It's easy to see the new
personality that is now so evident as a result of the changes you've made.
The bonus part for me is that I can resume listening to your music since it's
no longer sexually explicit just explicitly funky. It was wonderful to see
and hear you perform again!
Wow. I just got back home 2 Sydney after a 17 hour flight. In that time i've
had the chance to reflect on what has been one of the most incredible
experiences of my life. Thank you Prince, for opening yourself and your home
to the Fams of the world. It was the first time i have had the chance 2
xperience u and the NPG live, so seeing it at Paisley was just incredible.
To all the staff and volunteers, thank you for all your help. 7 nights of
amazing music is going to take a long time to recover from!!!To all the
great people from all around the world that I met, I thank u for being so
great. What an amazing bunch of people. I will definitely never forget this
week. I just hope that we can all do it all again next year.
I would like to express my gratitude to Prince and the NPG staff for their
hospitality. I have been trying to get to your celebration at Paisley Park
for a few years. I finally got there due to my husband. My loving spouse is
one of Musiq's managers and he insisted upon me joining them . It was truly
a blessing to be with so many wonderful, peaceful people and sharing the
experience with my husband was great!
Again, thank you for such a beautiful experience, if it is God's will I will
be joining you again next year. Continue to share the Truth and may God
bless you and staff always.
God's Love and Peace Always,
Kendall McArthur (NPG Sister 4 Life)

Prince and staff:
Thank you all for a great week. I heard many people express that they were not crazy about some of the featured guests, but I imagine now that Victor, Nora, Rachelle, and Bernard have about a 1000 new fans. Victor made me want to run out and buy a bass guitar and learn to play (although I could never match him)! It seems that every night your set was designed to match and build on the featuring artist of the night. The acoustic ( and for lack of a better word "unplugged") set was so cool. I had a great time and look forward to next year. Thanks for the "Days of Wild" CD, and thanks for the hospitality of allowing us to come "and play in the Park"

What can I say but WOW.
Thank you Prince for a wonderful week.
Thank you for letting us be in your house, and party with you.
Thank you to the NPG Staff for taking care of us, and making sure we were safe.
Thank you Femi & Joe for the great discussions. You guys are awesome.
Thank you Logan, For just being cool. Hope you have finally gotten some sleep!!!
Thank you Damon, for being a nice guy, and for letting me sing while we were in line.
Thank you Laura, for making sure there were fun activities for us to do while we were there.
Thank you Shelia E. for the great discussion, you are truly an amazing woman.
This will definitely be one of those times in life that I will never forget, since I learned so much while I was there and met some really wonderful people.
Thanks again,
Connie
P.S. Thank You Prince, for letting me sing on stage with you. That was definately a dream come true and I am truly grateful. You are an amazing human being.
I celebrated 4 days this yr and can sum my joy in one event: The workshop with Larry Graham. He was considerate, informative, humble, pastorial, delightful, joyous, and he served his purpose to the fullest. I will never forget the path he followed when he addressed any and all questions with his full attention. He walked in the direction of the light when following that microphone. I know that I can make myself happier than any one else can, that I don't have to let anyone still my joy, and that life is full of obstacles that are perhaps a mystery to us, and yet remain smiling. He gave of himself and his love was free. He was genuine and his Jesus-like demeanor will always serve as a legacy of how we should all press for the mark. Greetings from Oaktown 9-16-78. fam: Lennore
I had a wonderful time and never thought that Prince would surpass my highest
expectations of him. It was just wonderful and so beautiful to hang out w/
folks from around the world and just vibe on all the positive energy
following in the Park. The motorcycle - well, I'm looking good on it, thanks
for the photo opt. The sessions this year were a much-welcomed change for the
celebrations. Truly enjoyed Eric Leeds discuss the Madhouse sessions and
Tavis Smiley and crew break out the knowledge for folks.
The movie experience in my PJs - well, I only wish I had a photo of that
experience since I doubt that anyone will believe it. I had to call my Mom
early that morning and tell her that Prince took me to the movies and I fell
asleep.
I can't seem 2 put into words my overall experience. I can only wish that one
day the acoustic performance is released, if only to the NPG Music Club, but
released nevertheless. I'd pay top dollar for that show. That was by far one
of the best shows I've ever seen in life. I'm not sure how it happened, but
somehow he played all my favorites from each album. Songs I never thought I'd
ever hear him play live let alone again. Gotta Broken Heart, Condition of the
heart, Empty Room, Automatic, Pink Cashmere, One Kiss at a time, Tangerine,
the SOTT drum intro, Power Fantastic, I love u but don't trust u, Free, God
and my all time favorite: When the lights go down. Magnificent is the only
thing I can say. The guest musicians were great and now I'm heading out to
buy everything by everybody. Let's bring Rachelle back next year, that sista
can blow. It was fantastic and I so look 4ward to next year. Maybe next year
we can have a celebration scrapbook to house all the newspaper articles,
photos of fans from around the world, autographs and other memorabilia
collected throughout the week. Also, more photo opts in other rooms in the
Park. Thank u, peace and love.

Much Respect & Many Thanx!!!
This was my first year xperience w/ the celebration. I gotta say, there is just something magical about walking N 2 Paisley Park 4 the first time. U actually gotta smack u re self 2 realize u re n his house. I met sooo many people, some cool, some not so cool, but the music at PP is unreal.
It was amazing 2 have 1 on 1 contact w/ Prince, the NPG, NPGMC, & all the staff. You guys even put my pic up ! Thanks! Takumi & Sharrod made my visit so memorable. Everyone is soooo down 2 earth, and willing 2 chat anytime. Femi was unbelievable funny, intelligent & willing 2 answer ANY question.
The workshops were soooo amazing. The guest were spectacular, especially Shelia E. She tore it up.
Prince went out of his way by taking us to the movies. THANK YOU!!! Also, thank you Mani, for allowing us 2 share 4 a week. U R such a beautiful person, & I wish u 2 the best. ( Please let us come back) LOL!

Dear Prince and staff:
This week has been beyond words 4 me. Thank u does not seem adequate
4 the experience that eye had. Eye cannot explain the empowerment that eye
felt after the workshop with tavis, cornel, londell and michael, this
experience was totally unexpected but much needed in my life, eye thank u
so much 4 that. The oportunity 2 meet and interact with people from all
walks of life and nationalities was something eye will treasure 4ever. It
was wonderful 2 see so many former band members (especially eric) and
dancers on stage with u again. It was like a reunion of sorts, eye was so
happy 2 b a part of that. Watching u every night perform songs eye never
thought eye would ever hear live was very touching. The acoustic guitar
performance was "wow". Eye especially loved the energy and positivity that
flowed thru every room at paisley park, it says alot about it's owner.
Thank u 4 the spiritual uplift "much needed" my only wish is that eye would
have had an opportunity 2 talk 2 u and larry about some spiritual matters
"mayb someday".
The band r a group of the most awesome musicians ever assembled, but
eye think u know that. The paisley staff were the kindest people that eye
have encountered n a long time, it's nice 2 know they still exist (kind
people).
Thank u 4 the introduction 2 some artist eye did not know about
(rachelle, victor, norah and bernard) they difinitely made a fan out of me.
The workshops gave me the chance 2 talk 2 the musicians and engineers and
learn so much from them. Thanks 4 the opportunity 2 help with the food
drive, and the chance 2 talk with the cool people that were handle that,
they gave me great advice as 2 what eye could do n my own comminity 2 help.
Eye am still very high from this experience. 4 the learning, the
spirituality, the music, the empowerment and the fun eye THANK U. This was
my 1st celebration and eye am already looking 4ward 2 next year.
peace and love

Dear Prince and Staff,
Thank u all for a wonderfull week at Paisley Park. Seeing all These great
musicians perform in such a relexad and laid back atmosphere was
definitely worth the trip.
Thank u for opening your house for all of us and showing the power that
music has to bring people closer together.
Hope to see you in Europe soon and looking forward to the day that i can

What a way to start a week long celebration! Maceo was great, and Prince was great. After all was said and done Maceo played for 2 hours, and then another 2 1/2 hours with Prince! It was hot this night, but so were the grooves.
What a great experience for all of us from around the world! Thank you Prince from the bottom of my heart. Obviously this isn't about the money this week, as I know you could make 10+ times the amount playing in a bigger venue, but the vibe is priceless. May the world learn a lesson from this week of diversity!
Love and peace to all,

Hi
I returned home Tuesday nite from the celebration.
It was so hard to leave. I have so much to say, but few words to express how
wonderful it felt to be among fellow music club members.
First let me thank our host.
Prince Thank you for allowing us the pleasure of visiting Paisley Park again.
I am grateful to you for sharing your life with us. I have been to hell and back
with you. And now that you are on a path to heaven there is no way I'm going
to leave you now. Your music has inspired me and kept me alive. You have always
been in my prayers. Please know that your struggle has not been in vain.
I still can't believe you actually took us to the movies. Thank you Thank you!
I will always follow that white car.
To the Paisley staff, security and volunteers.
Thank you for being patient with us when we were less patient with you.
Thank you for enduring the rain and the heat to make sure we were taken care of.
Thank you for the friendly smiles and the words of encouragement.
Thank you for resolving problems quickly.
Know that without you this experience would not be possible.
To the NPG MUSIC CLUB
It was great to meet members from around the world. The love felt in Paisley Park
came directly from the members. My thoughts are with you as you enjoy the
final hours of the celebration. Please be careful as you return home and I hope to
see all of you again.
The highlite of my experience was going to the movies with Prince. I will always
remember that.
Second would be Sheila E. This was my first time seeing her perform and she was
amazing. Thank you Sheila for sharing your experience with us and giving us the
show of a lifetime. Although I must admit I'm a little upset with you for making
me cry. I promised myself that I wouldn't cry this year. Like you, I wear my
heart on my sleeve and I get very emotional easily. Tears of JOY and LOVE!
I don't think I can convey in words the feelings that I felt when I was at Paisley
Park. The vibe was so alive and energetic. Everyone was in a party mood.
You could feel the excitement of the newcomers. Love filled the room. There were
moments when it felt like home. Like I knew all these people all my life. It felt
safe. Safe from all the troubles of the world. A place to exhale. To reflect. To
remember. To share. To trust. To embrace. To party. Yes, let's not forget the party.
Prince was so relaxed. He smiled a lot. Made jokes on stage. And brought the funk.
Pure funk. I'm so tired. I don't know where he gets the energy. 7 days of none
stop funk. I feel like I dreamed the whole thing.
Was it a dream?

If I never get the chance to say thank you...
If I never get the chance to even have you know my name...
If I never get the opportunity to be acknowledged...
If I never cross your path again,
Let me say now: Xenophobia was an awesome experience for me.
I was a virgin to this 'groove in June', and now forever tainted.
Prince, blessings to you and yours, always, as you have truly been a blessing to me.
You were an excellent host for the weekend nights I spent with you, the red carpet laid out indeed.
Things have come to an end for me now, but I wanted you to know that you have made me happier on this journey.
You are the best, you are blessed and your fans will always be there.
Peace and Service,

Hey Musicclub and every1 at Paisley Park,
I was at The Celebration from Friday to Monday and it was one of the coolest experiences I've had. Prince and his crew set up a 1derful event. The discussions with Dr. West, Tavis Smiley and others were eye-opening and provocative. The Daily Sessions were Nlightening and the Music was completely MAD! Maceo Parker, Sheila E, Victor Wooten et al were in a word MASTERFUL. And I ain't even got to Prince yet. The man just seemed so relaxed (that was probably because he was at Home) He seemed to have such a good time kickin it with all of the Family at Paisley. Some times words cannot explain a feeling and that's how I felt about the Celebration. Funky, Fun, Uplifting, Jazzy, Creative, Lively and most of all Nclusive.
I went to The Park and Played. Cool as the other Side of the Pillow. I will be back next year.

It broke my heart to have to leave Paisley Park before the end of the Xenophobia Celebration.
But the time that I spent there was spectacular!
Prince's performances surpassed any of my expectations. He truly has a gift to share with the world.
Maceo, Sheila, Victor, Nora and Bernard also gave fantastic performances.
There were people of all ethnicities, nationalities, religious belief systems, etc., in attendance and in perfect harmony- all jamming together until the wee ours of the night. If only the rest of the world knew what we knew....
Xe! ............ Xenophobia!

Sadly I was only able to be at the Celebration Thursday-Monday, but I want to
say thank you my dear brother so much for one of the best times I've had my
whole life and it's not like I haven't already had my share of good times
(especially since I started studying the Bible over 18 years ago).
The music I heard those four days (day 4 being my favorite - your acoustic
set was too beautiful for words and I was so thrilled to hear Norah Jones
play live - her voice is almost as beautiful as yours and she seems like such
a gem). By the way, I was the one who stopped and told you (and Mani) at the
end of Norah's show how happy I was that you invited her... yes, she is very
talented.
The first night was great - hearing parts of TRC again was such a treat! (My
husband and I were at the show at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood) and we
talked about going to see the ONA show again in Phoenix but couldn't make it.
Experiencing "Avalanche" live was breathtaking. Also particularly enjoyed
the way you led the audience to sing during "Joy in Repetition". We left
the Park that night vibrating with positive energy...
Night 2 was a little disappointing only because I spent much of Sheila's set
out in the lobby due to the heat (but I did get to meet some interesting
people) - but what an astounding last few songs she did and she deserves a
medal for the performance she gave despite the circumstances! When we came
back in you were at the piano and mesmerized the whole lot of us.... yeah,
but you already know how good you are, so I'll just say "thank you" again and
leave it at that. Then you invited us to the movies (I thought it was a joke
and was ready to go back to our room and get some sleep for the meeting
Sunday) but Charetta (the sister I roomed with) insisted we go lest we miss a
movie/video from the NPGMC.... Okay, okay Charetta - but I have to admit that
I wasn't feeling too enthusiastic (infact I'm embarrassed to say that you may
have seen my crabbily tell her I wasn't going to take a picture of her in
front of your limo because I thought it was silly). I say that because as
soon as we got in the theater we saw you go into one of the screening rooms
and realized you were probably sitting in the limo at the time she got her
picture taken (by another sister - not me). When we were convinced it was
just a regular old movie, we got ourselves back over to the Chanhassen Inn
for some sleep. FYI - your sister Charetta (hope you get to meet her - she's
truly a "peach") was on the screen the first night - she was the one who said
she had travelled over 1300 miles and they lost her luggage so you might have
to see her in the same old dress for the week but she still ntended to fully
enjoy herself. She is a pioneer from Alabama and she made full use of the
Celebration to talk to people about the "Truth" (divine that is :) and
together we placed several pieces of literature and had some really good
conversations with various ones. Let's just say you made it easy for a
pioneer to get her time in for the month...
Anyway, I realize this is sounding more like a personal note than a review,
but I sincerely hope this gets to you because I never did get to thank you in
person (not to mention giving you a "sisterly hard time" for staying up late
for a Tom Cruise movie and missing the Sunday meeting - you missed a good
talk).
3rd night was AWESOME !!!! Victor Wooten and his brother and band - what a
stunning show - you really know how to bring in the talent... what a card
that drummer is too! Absolutely loved it! At the break I actually wondered
how you were going to top them - but you did.... You and Larry that is - what
a couple of happy kids you guys look playing together up there - ageless - we
could have been in the new system it was feeling so good! Then on to "Sign
of the Times" and "Paisley Park" and several other old songs I wish I knew -
very heartwarming to hear the audience sing along with you - wish I knew all
the words too but I was 19 back in '84 and you were a "bad boy" back then and
even though I still liked some of your "radio songs" I never was exposed to
the albums between '84 and "Rave". Infact, that leads me a request - Would
you please consider putting together an album of some of those wonderful old
songs (cleaned up like you did for us with "Peach")? It would be such a
delight for us who still aren't familiar with some of the good old stuff...
Not to mention, I did hear parts of "Sign of the Times" recently and I think
the sound of your voice (and band) is so fantastic now that it would be a
shame not to be able to have a CD of some of those songs.
Oh yeah, watching those kids dance - too cute for words!!! If I didn't know
better I'd say that one little girl seems like a little "Nelson" to me... :)
Okay, finally the 4th (and my favorite night) - there just simply aren't
words to describe it... and I know for a fact that I'm not the only one who
feels this way. Surely you must know how much we would love to be able to
purchase a video of that night (and all of the nights for that matter) and/or
any live music from the Celebration?
Also want to commend you for the variety of music in the 4 nights - and to
think there was (and still is) more....
So thanks again for 4 nights of wonder and "surrender" to the most beautiful
music I've ever heard. You and the band and your guests nailed everything to
sheer perfection. Yes, I know we don't believe in "magic" but it sure felt
like that - I'm sure you must have seen us all dance with joy after the show
on night 4.
So as I write this it's now almost 10 PM Paisley time and no doubt you are
marvelling the audience again with yet another outstanding show. I'm sad I
can't be there, but I do plan on being there next year (with my dear husband
this time who couldn't make it this year and was sweet enough to let me go
without him).
See ya next year!
Until then, much love to you and Mani and all the brothers and sisters there
at Paisley and to the very helpful and friendly staff there at Paisley at the
NPG Music Club.
Your sister in California, Jamie
