The second edition is great. I love the new videos. Wish I was at San Jose for that show. Looks like the fams were being electrified. I don't have any technical suggestions, but I do think the music in the audio section should be different from the songs in the trax section. This will prevent us from downloading the same songs which leads to longer download time. Also an estimated time frame for when the new editions are to be available each month would be nice. Can't wait for the return of the Time. I saw them in concert for the first time in December. They were awesome!

How about Celebration 2001? My clothes are packed. Just let me know when and where.

The Player- I like the improvements on the player like taking up less resources on my computer than last month.

Videos- the full length videos rather than the short snippets last month were a great improvement I would like them 2 be viewable in Full Screen and able to store on a disc, so eventually it won't take all my hard drive space.

The Trax- It would be cool if the MP3's had a 320 bit rate since it would improve upon the sound, but I do like the bit rate options, Alternating the months with studio trax one month and live trax the next would be cool, and when live trax r available have more available so u'll have more of a feel of the whole show. Also, a little something about the songs such as the recording dates or venue.

NPG Ahdio- The option of high and low quality last month was great but it wasn't available this month, The new Prince songs on Ahdio r great it's cool 2 hear some NEW songs on here every month like High, My Medallion, Golden Parachute, and the new track that I don't know the title of that was played this month, which brings 2 mind a tracklist or a title being said 4 the songs would be great since a lot of the songs we don't know like the jazzy stuff and the guitar trax, also less previously released trax being played,March had a lot of officially released songs and a lot of promos and having the MP3's of the month of March being played during the Ahdio show was repetitive, I like the mix of NEW PRINCE songs a couple of obscure O)+> songs some related artist songs like Rhonda Smith, DVS, and Larry Graham.

The Future- Looking forward 2 the remix experience and hopefully in the future CD and Video compilations will be available of the downloaded material especially 4 those without computer access or slow computer access also interactive voting on material u want 2 download next month would be great and hopefully a chat room soon.

I've been 2/3rds of my life waitin' for access to the music I wanna' hear, from whatever artist I chose, from choices made from the effect of the subject matter on me, not the bank account of some bean counter Listening hopefully amongst a backdrop of manufactured beats with no soul, words with no meaning. Hoping to catch a new joint, like back in the days when our only glimpse of how a radio DJ is meant to perform, could be heard on pirate radio. Strange how we have gone full circle in a way! The music will continue to surface, as long as the people want to hear it. And hear lies the problem. Clubs like the NPGMC, will only prosper and thrive if we all take the chance to promote the music and the ethics of freedom for all artists and audiences alike. Tell your brothers and sisters and be proud to be part of the new beginning. (Preach brotha!)

As few real artists are given the chance to express their visions 'commercially' and similarly, the audience to actually make their own decision on what they like and dislike, other channels of distribution are the only way back to the people

I support and follow Prince's (and a growing number of commercially successful artists') vision for a move away from the controlling bodies of the distribution networks (and this is all the should ever have been, not owners!) How the hell did we every get to the point of not owning what we create just because we allow someone else to distribute it to an audience, mostly of their choice? Who actually set the precedent for this agreement…and how was it allowed to continue unchallenged for so long?

Freedom is now not a vision, for me or for you. Take it forward and support your brothers and sisters who are brave enough to put their own 'suxcess' on the line to make a difference

let me start by saying that I'm delighted by the idea of NPGMC. Everything's open to improvement though, right?

I prefer to listen to music from a real player not from my computer so everything I buy from you I will burn to CDR. Given that, it would be nice to have:

1. the radio show in MP3 format
2. monthly artwork for my CDR
3. information on the radio show: presenters, music etc.
4. background info on the video and music available.

now, everyone knows that prince is always on the cutting edge of new thangs, but this one is really so innovative i can't explain. anytime i am doing anything n my house, cooking, cleaning, washing clothes or anything within ear shot of my computer, i have the club on.....LOUD!!! i have some real sweet speakers running with it and it bumps real tight. i must agree with the peeps that have mentioned the cut that begins with " welcome 2 the slaughter house" as one of the funkiest and new sounding jams he has done. it just captures my attention. even my son, who is a hip hop head nods heavy when it is playing. he has even asked me 4 the paasword 2 listen 4 himself!!! anyway, prince, u r the one..always will b.

I'm hoping you'll be able to make even more file types available for the NPG Ahdio Transmissions. For those of us still trying to get another year out of a three-year-old computer, the tracks file size make it difficult to listen to without erroring out midway through. I would also like to take the Transmissions with me in my car as an alternate to radio, and the format you are posting them in doesn't allow that.

Please consider making .mp3's of the Transmissions available.

What Prince has done 4 himself & the fams with the NPGMC is the most innovative & creative thing I think any artist has ever done. I know I speak 4 all the fams in saying we appreciate his gift & can't wait for all that he has 2 give us each month. The only thing I would suggest is that I would like with the club give us songs we haven't heard B4. Don't get me wrong, I love the live trax but I would rather hear unreleased new or vault trax instead. I would also like 2 see the "Transmissions" and video trax available in MP3 format so we can listen 2 them anywhere. Much love & keep it up!!

At the moment I am thinking that it would be a great idea if there was a message to all the fams from Prince himself ! on the main page for example...think how much we would all appreciate that. A photo section would be great too...showing recent pictures of Prince and the NPG, showing what they r getting up to.

I think that the player could be improved visually by including recurring animations for examples...just a thought. A brief background of the date, location and venue of live tracks and vault tracks would be appreciated so we know what period of ur perpetual creativity the tracks each come from. I still think that at least one REALLY rare unattainable track should be up for download each month...that would separate us as true fams from the rest of the world as we would be of a select few who have the means to listen to such tracks. Using old performances from concerts done in the early 80's would be sensational for the video downloads.

Hope my suggestions r noted as well as last time...oh and Prince...come to tour in England pleeeeeease! we r all waiting 4 u.

it would be nice to have a little more info while downloading like napster does, i.e. estimated time left & transfer rate, also the ability to stop downloading half way through (I have on occasion needed to do this & the only way seems to be to disconnect completely)

having said that, you do already do one MAJOR thing that napster & the like don't do... and that's the ability to pick up where you left off downloading if you do get disconnected. This is a MASSIVE plus point... thanks.

Also it would be nice to have a definite date for the monthly changes. (& it ought to be near the beginning of the month)

something like "new trax by the 7th of each month" or "new trax posted between the 7th to the 17th day of each month"

that way we would know when to expect the change and giving a week to 10 day time frame (rather than a specific time) would I'm sure help you with any last minute issues and also avoid loads of fams logging on all at the same time

anyway, that's my 2c for the day.

Thanx a lot for the new player! It seems to me that some bugs have been removed like problems running the player under Windows 2000, some download errors with extreme large files, etc. Good work and support from Tekadence and also a beautiful Art-Work!

Some improvement I think would make the experience much better:

-Full Screen mode for the videos within the player, because the .mov files can not played with the Apple player...
-MP3-Tags: It would be nice to see the title, year, trackName, etc within the MP3-Tag.
a picture could also be easily contained, for example a CD-Cover or stage picture from prince for live-tracks!
-a full live-show! To get the ultimate feeling of a show it would be necessary to hear ALL songs from it!
-What about a windows desktop theme? With a cool screensaver?
-a whole album? :-)))

I am really digging the NPG music club so far. The music is tight in every aspect. I hate that I am using dial up right now though. I am very pleased with the choice of file quality. Even though I am a dial up user..I want the best sound I can get. I will soon get dsl or cable, so that I can get my fix a bit faster.

I do have a suggestion to Tekadence though. Maybe they could add a timer to the player during the next big update. I use a download accelerator program which allows you to download item you specify at certain days and times. I am not sure if it would help those with broadband connections that much, but it would be a cool and very useful feature for those with dial up. Right now...if I need to download a large file, I'll begin the download, then leave the house while it finishes. Of course, I can only download one item at a time. Is it possible to also provide the whole update in one LARGE file that unpacks itself after being downloaded? Maybe it can be split into two large files? What about a NPGMC chat room? I am just throwing stuff off of the top of my head.

I have continued to be thrilled with the offerings from the NPGMC. I am waiting patiently for Prince and the NPG to come to Raleigh, NC this year. I missed the Hit & Run shows in Charlotte, and pray that he find it necessary to rock Raleigh. I am a premium member, and am looking forward to getting "premium seating." The last time I saw Prince live was during the Jam of The Year Tour when he played in Raleigh. I was on the forth row and enjoyed the closeness and crowd interaction. Hopefully the premium seating will be even better.

Some suggestions: 1) When first going to the Trax page, a date is shown, but no trax. You need to select a date, even the one that is already showing, to see something in the trax list.

2) Allow for multiple simultaneous downloads and/or provide a way to download a whole month's worth of material in 1 download click.

3) Provide a way to play through a list of songs, either the month's list or user-created list, rather than having to go back to the player and click on the next song.

4) Allow the player embedded QuickTime player to be enlarged, even if the image would get a little distorted.

also as good as this is - it is not as good as the release of a new cd or hearing your songs on the radio.

Prince - you once said after the Parade album - that you weren't overly keen on it other than Kiss - and the temptation was to go back straight in the studio to produce a killer album - between what you did on the Dream Factory and Camille projects and released with SOTT - you certainly did.

It is time the world heard another killer (mainstream) album from Prince

I think that it would be a good idea to let the fams no when the songs were recorded - the era. Also the band members that were involved in the songs.

Apart from that I have no complaints as such - keep up the good work.

First of all: Thank U very much 4 the updates 4 the player. It looks even cooler, works great, & seems a little bitty faster. It is getting a really cool app like this.

Then 4 the new yelly: Good. Nice. Great. But nothing really special. Don't get me wrong, There is no other artist that could have done this, and it is a great project wich eye support for 200%. And Eye know that Prince-fams have VERY high standards 2 music, but that is simply bcuz Prince puts high standards on creating it. It is very hard 2 appreciate other music after U get 2 know Prince's Music, bcuz of those high standards.

But what I am trying 2 say is this: We pay 4 the NPGMC. I do not hink it is a high fee, but other fams may disagree on that. The NPG AHDIO show from Februari was great. We heard some new stuff from Prince (& the NPG), heard some other artists with some great music, and good humor. The Quality was poor, But that was fixed later that month. The new Mp3's where good, NEW. The March-release is nice (although the Quality has decreased) but the songs played, 80% of them r taken from normal released albums. We already have bought those songs.

The new MP3's r good. But nothing special. It is nice 2 finally c some live-footage released, that is true. But the versions r not that different from the Album-versions. Prince is known 4 its mindblowing live-per4mances. So where r those recordings?!? :-) There must b some new stuff in that Fort-Knox-like Vault? :-)

The Movies r great. Only the quality could b increased a little bit. Eye am not, by al means, trying 2 burn this house down. It is great. The Only thing is, 2 my opinion, that the songs released could be picked more carefull. The system works. Eye know that the bootlegging isue is a big 1, and Eye know Prince is trying everything that lies in his power 2 stop it, or at least control it. But u have 2 b carefull not 2 disadvantage the REAL fams.

Alrite. Eye hope this email does not have 2 much negativity in it, Eye am just trying 2 b honest. Good Luck with the further improvement of the NPGMC. And these kinda emales only help with that, don't they?

The live tracs are also extremely welcome but why put them in the radio show as well?? it just seems a waste of time.

i was also wondering what the instrumental is right after my computer i.e. the 1 that sounds like hendrix doing classical music (sorry couldn't think of any other way to describe it, but u know the 1 i mean), this song is simple amazing i just couldn't beleive my ears when i first listened to it , if this is the type of music coming out of the park at the moment then the next album is going to be out of this world.

keep up the good work but a little more info about the tracs would be nice i.e. credits, when they were recorded even lyrics!!!!.

I love love love the videos, but because the jelly is in quicktime, its dang near impossible to take the funk on the road. Would it be possible to get the songs from the vids in MP3 format as well? I know I could go through all the drama of converting it myself, but I know you have em!!!!

Also. Lyrics and credits and/or notes. I am sure I am not the only brutha hitting the rew button thinking, "What did the man just say?" We know you aint as bad as James Brown., but often times you are kicking knowledge and I wanna be sure I am getting your entire message.

The NPG Player never really worked right for me but I have to tell you that the new one is doing the trick. I don't know what it ways that was kickin' my computer's a**, but the new player knocked it right out. Now I'm ready to throwDOWN!!! Gimme the downloads, Prince. My ride is tricked out now, boy! When do we get more VAULT trax? I'm reading for Crystal Ball 2, 3, AND 4! :)
