Columbus, OH on March 5 (26 reports)

from Ric

The Columbus show from March 5th was fantastic!! I couldn't recall from memory each song, but I checked some fan sites on the Web and I pieced together a list that seems to fit the "One Night Alone With Prince" tour date that I recall seeing. I hope I have the list correctly written.

Songs included: The Rainbow Children, Muse 2 The Pharaoh, Xenophobia, A Case Of You, Mellow, 1+1+1 is 3, Love Rollercoaster, The Other Side Of The Pillow, Strange Relationship, Sing A Simple Song, La La La (Means I Love You), Didn't You Know - (Rhonda and Prince Duet), When You Were Mine, Avalanche, Family Name, Take Me With U, Raspberry Beret, Another Star, Santana Medley, Piano Medley: w/Free, Starfish & Coffee, Sometimes It Snows In April, I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore, Adore, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore, Anna Stesia.

I have to say that one highlight for me was the performance of "1+1+1 is 3." This is such a great song. The John Blackwell "live" drumming made it even funkier than the original LP version. The drums reminded me of that found on the song "Race" from 1993. Mr. Blackwell's timing really "made" the song stand out!

The piano medley featuring "Free," "Starfish & Coffee," "Sometimes It Snows In April," "I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore," "Adore," "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore" was another jaw dropping moment. To actually hear "Free" live in a smaller venue was great!

I hope this show will be available on CD or DVD soon. It definitely captured a musical moment in time that I want to relive again and again.

Peace,
Ric

This was the concert I have waited to see all of my life. This was the true Prince in his purest, funkiest form. I have seen him two other times in Columbus and this was the ONE. From the venue, to the sets, to his laid-back joy of playing for us, it couldn't have been better...it was truly a night I will always remember. It was wonderful to see Prince so happy and at peace and excited about his music. The live version blows the Rainbow Children CD away and I was in love with the CD before the live version of last night rocked my world. Prince: you are a class act and a joy to see in person.

Peace and luv 2 all-

all i gots to say is God looked down on his son last night and said "WELL DONE THY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT".
I saw the show last night in Columbus and like ol' boy said on the movie Coming to America, "that boy sure was goooood" I think it is awsome how prince would take a chance for God. By that I mean people arent always ready for change therefor there are a lot of people out there who wanted to hear the old stuff all night and not ready to hear what he did last night. I like how he is basically saying I am doing what I was told to do and what God thinks of me means more to me than what man thinks cuz as ya know you cant serve God and Man.. I dont have to wish him luck cuz with God on his side, He dont need luck, feel me?.... He is being obedient to the Father therefor he is blessed. I always knew he was put here to touch the lives of others because as a girl growing up,I had a horrible family life and I use to take my prince cassettes to the basement and play them on my hand held tape player and scream right along with him and as I did I would feel like I was releasing stress, shoot, those tapes got that little girl thru, now several years later, I am still listening and I am please to witness that he has chosen to walk in his purpose, his reason for being here, to teach others about the Love Of God.... my prayers are witcha daily and I am hoping to catch that Cleveland show.....
ps. and I was feeling "free" last night that is my cut.... how appropriate for these times

much love and respect.....

What can I say???????????????Once again Prince always out do his self. This was my fourth time seening Prince in Oh and every time I always walk away in amazement. He rocked the Ohio theatre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was so cool how he invited his fans too come on stage and party with him. I'm so jealous. All the music from muse to the pharoah to annastesia deserves an A++++++++++ . My favorites were Sometimes it snows in April and Adore. Keep up the good work Prince; You are truly God sent. God Bless you,

March 5, 2002, a day I will never forget. I found out about the concert by accident, looking into ticketmaster.com for Kid Rock and came across Prince. I nearly lost it. I have waited so long for a Prince concert and missed the one last year in Columbus. It brought me back to the time I experienced the "Lovesexy Tour" in 1988 in Cincinnati, Ohio....14 years ago. Seems like yesterday....all still in my mind and in my heart. This was a real personable concert. Prince came out to the audience. Spoke to people, asking them if they were leaders or followers. Of course, I told myself follower if he's speaking of God. And, of course, I would follow him anywhere..4 sure!!! He brought four lucky "fams" up on stage that answered "follower". The highlight of the show for me was when he played "Free", my favorite song. I just bought "The Rainbow Children" two weeks ago....I know, I know, where have I been. Anyhow, I'm so glad I did. And so glad I experienced Prince's love and talent once again. He was looking so fine, but when does he not?!!! I had to come home and get out my videos of the Oprah interview, "The Tonight Show" performance, "The Muppet Show" appearance in which he sang "Starfish and Coffee". He sang this at the concert. Such a fun, uplifting song. Prince just makes my heart pound with such joy, love and understanding in God. Hope everyone who has the opportunity to experience this show goes. GO, YOU WON'T REGRET!!!!!!!

THANKS PRINCE AND THE NPGFC FOR THE ONE NIGHT ALONE W/ PRINCE!!!!!

I want to say Thank U 2 Prince for allowing those of us who belong 2 the NPGMC 2 xperience the joys of interaction. It began when I saw him leave the bus and enter the theater, he waved (which was just way cool). And then, 1nce inside for the soundcheck ... words cannot xplain the xperience. The greatest moment was when he allowed people to play his instruments and gave some comments and funny lines. The discussion about God, music and truth were priceless. And the concert was mind-blowing, I think the best that I've seen in my 20 plus years as a fam. Hey Prince, can I use that in a commercial? NPGMC membership ... $100, cost of ticket ...$50 - $100, Intimate Interaction with Prince ... Priceless! May God continue to bless you in all areas of your life. May U continue to allow God 2 use U 2 deliver some truth to His Rainbow Children.

God Bless and Much Love 2U -

AHHHH what a night! It was just 1 of those times that eye will never 4get! My momma and eye had nearly first row seats, and the show was rockin'! Eye was 1 of the 4 that were choosen 2 go up on stage the first time and the veiw was awesome! Prince really knows how 2 treat his guests!=-) Eye also luved it when Prince mentioned his personal studying of the New World Tranlation. Eye have been brought up in a family that studies that Bible and that knows Gods name is Jehovah.

OH MY!!!!!!

I would have to say that PRINCE was all about music and rocked Columbus once again. This was the second trip for my friend and I. I would have to say that this man is a gift from GOD and we can only be thankful.

For those who haven't seen this experience...What are you waiting for? GO. It is well worth any amount of money.

Prince...I am a follower and I would have to say that you only get better. Keep the music coming, because it is a real taste of Heaven. You are such a talented man and I would like to thank you for a wonderful evening. I can't wait to see you again.

from Bonnie

Just wanted to say thanks for the ticket exchange for club members at soundcheck. You really know how to take care of your fams. We were in the balcony original and Billy Sparks trade a numerous amount of people tickets to sit in the 6th row center, since we had bad seats for the presale. thanks again.

from Shari

I saw Prince last nite in Columbus and all I can say is that I was witness to an amazing and thrilling night to remember...we arrived at the theater around 430 pm just as Prince's tour bus was pulling in my friend Eric was way ahead of me due to I wore my highheeled boots so he got to see him get off the bus and go inside he waved at him but went right in...so about 5 pm they let us inside the doors to stay warm about 5 30 they said we would get to see the soundcheck and that we would be searched for cameras or recording devices but this is weird they never searched us but I was honest and realized I had left my camera in my coat pocket cuz I am always taking pics of my kids and stuff at work so I left my camera at the will call window cuz I would rather see the soundcheck then get a pic any day but I took a chance that it would still be there cuz the guy would not promise that it would be or not...so we get in and as a NPGMC member U show ur ID and tix and U get a laminate pass that gets u into the afterparty...so we walk into the theater and P is onstage playing PEACH......we sit down about 4th row center and he keeps playing as more people come in and talks to us a bit....there was maybe 60 people there he said I wish it could be like this all the time then U all could shout out the songs U wanna hear.....but...I got bills to pay.....hehehehe...I am not sure if I have the order of songs right but he played "she loves me 4 me" then asks if any of us played instruments or sang and about 5 people raised their hands he told them to go get up onstage.....one dude played his Hohner(SP)?? guitar...one guy got to play the drums and 2 others were the singers...he told them to play and everyone thought P was joking at first.....but they ended up doing "when U were mine" with the rest of the band...it was really good...the guy on guitar was smoking it....and Prince just walked around the theater listening to them and laughing his azzzz off....we all sang along and clapped our hands for support.....after that Prince strapped on the symbol guitar and played DOLPHIN....and then he also played "the Ride" those were the highlights for me as far as songs....then he sat down with us and chatted for about 45 mins...it was way too kewl....he was very friendly and relaxed and asked us questions and we asked him questions about the whole ticketmaster mess and he talked about the recording industry and a little bit about the bible but not preachy just said he has been studying....said Cincinnati show will be rescheduled but he has to go to Europe first so I guess that means he will come back to the US and maybe finish the tour at the spots he missed first time around....:)...I guess we were in there a total of 1 1/2 hours....cuz the doors were opening at 7 and people were going in once we got back outside...well finally the show started....our seats were excellent third row centerstage.....well early on in the show he went around asking people in the front rows are U a leader or a follower....everyone he asked said leader....finally someone said follower then he got 4 people and told them follow me then.....and they went up onstage and he took them back behind the band and had them sit on this little bleacher type seat....he said U are all my guests now......a few mins later then he says I need someone to dance with and he picked this girl and brought her up onstage then he played guitar while she danced then he said I need more people so he picked 3 more people.....and he picked my friend Eric so they are up there dancing and doing the O-HI-O chant and I am clapping and laughing and singing and wishing so bad to be up there too...then a few mins later Prince says wait I forgot someone.....and he came down right in front of me almost and I am waving my hands...pick me Prince!!.....well guess what he looked right at me and pointed...U....and he even was sweet enough as to hold my hand and help me up onto the stage so I didnt break my neck in my boots.....hehehehe...so we danced for a song or two then Prince asked us if we would like to stay and of course we all said yes so he took us back also behind the band and we had seats on the opposite side of the first group....first song I remember him playing while we were back there was"CASE OF U" my friend Eric I thought was going to faint that is like his fave song.....then when "1+1+1 is 3" started we got up and danced again then he slowed it down a bit again for "Other side of the Pillow" then he said lets see if U all remember this one and he goes over to the keyboards and goes into "Strange Relationship" which is like my jam......then he went thru a couple cover songs...and he kept asking us if we need anything and one of the guys said MERCHANDISE....so P said we can do that....next thing I know they are bringing us all T-shirts and tell us to put them on.....how kewl is that....right be4 he started "Family Name" he sent us back to our seats.....we go out thru the backstage and who do I see sitting off to the side of the stage but Mani....I said hello and shook her hand and said nice to meet U.....very pretty girl....:)...well back at our seats and P goes into Family Name.....and just funks it up....then just to tear the roof off he goes into RASPBERY BERET and TAKE ME WITH U....full versions of these.....the place was on their feet....then he goes into the "Santana Medley" now I have heard of P performing this at aftershows.....but let me say I was blown away.....to be so close and watch the music pour out of him into his guitar....I appreciated him so much more last night.. he thanked us and left the stage to change outfits for the encore....next we got to sit.....cuz at this point my feet are throbbing....but he goes into the Piano Medley....and starts with ADORE then goes into Under the Cherry Moon....the place was going nuts....next was "FREE" then another fave "Starfish and Coffee" but next I thought I was going to cry it was so beautifully done...."Sometimes it Snows in April" and then "I Love U but I dont trust U anymore" then "I had a feeling he would do this but he did "How Come U dont call me anymore"...I am just speechless at this point cuz I knew how he was going to close the show then....he came center stage and strapped on the guitar and went into ANNA STESIA......what a perfect way to end..... we do the Love is GOD.....GOD is Love then he added at the end about 9/11 tragedy and what we had discussed at the soundcheck about what our feelings were and.....he did mention he seeks answers now in the Bible and has been studying but that he still has alot to learn and he didnt preach....he wants us to make up our own mind.....my whole take on his message was we are all of God's children and to "get thru this thing called life" there is one thing he hopes that maybe we could all try to agree on tonight LOVE IS GOD GOD IS LOVE GIRLS AND BOYS LOVE GOD ABOVE... and after 3 hours it ended but what an incredible night that I will never forget...THANK U PRINCE AND NPG

PEACE AND HUGS

I totally loved every minute of the concert on March 5th at the Ohio Theatre, here in Columbus. I saw you last summer at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, also. Both shows were completely awesome, but last night, was overwhelming!! I love all the new music you are doing and the sounds are incredible. I feel so much peace and serenity in your music and lyrics. I was sitting in the Mezzanine shouting "Follower" when you asked the question!!! Too bad you couldn't hear me. :) I think it is so cool to have audience members on stage. And they all looked so happy to be up there as your "guests." I especially loved your encore!!!!! You and your piano was so beautiful to me. I am in the Truth, so you know I was feeling all you were saying about studying the New World Translation and the comfort you found instead of fear on September 11th. People who don't know, don't understand. I felt the same way you did on that day. It's all a part of the "process." I love you, Brother. Keep on recording beautiful music and maybe one day, I will be listening to you jam in Paradise!!!!!

OH-MY-GOD-
WHAT CAN I SAY? ANOTHER NITE TO RANK IN THE TOP 5 OF ALL TIME THANKS TO PRINCE AND THE NpG.EVEN BEFORE THE SOUND CHECK BEGINS, I GET TO MEET RHONDA IN FRONT OF THE OHIO THEATER. THEN I MEET BILLY ONCE I'M INSIDE! THAT SET THE TONE FOR THE ENTIRE EVENING. THE SOUND CHECK WAS SO MUCH MORE THAN ANYONE COULD HAVE EVER EXPECTED. ALL THE MUSIC THAT HE PERFORMED SEEMED AS IF IT WERE JUST 4 ME. IT WAS THE MOST INTIMATE MUSICAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. THEN HE CAME DOWN AND...GET THIS... SAT DOWN NO MORE THAN 3 FEET IN FRONT OF ME! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. I GOT TO SIT AND TALK TO MY MUSICAL IDOL FOR A GOOD 25 MINUTES. IT SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY. HE EVEN CALLED MY FRIEND AND I UP TO SE HIS GUITAR...THEN GAVE MY FRIEND THE PICK! THE SHOW WAS AMAZING AS WELL. MUSICALLY, IT WAS THE BEST SHOW I HAVE EVER SEEN. P'S VERSION OF CASE OF U IS AMAZING. MELLOW IS BY FAR ONE OF MY FAVORITE NEW GROOVES. ITS NOT OFTEN YOU GET TO HEAR JAZZ LIKE THAT. IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH, AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOW I LOOK OVER AND WHO IS WALKING BY? THAT'S RIGHT MANNY. SHE CAME OVER AND SAID HELLO, SHOOK MY HAND, AND I EVEN GAVE HER AN INVITATION TO THE AFTER AFTER PARTY. (SHE DIDN'T SHOW, NOT THAT I EXPECTED HER TO) THEN WHEN THE CONCERT WAS OVER, I WAITED OUTSIDE AND MET JOHN, MACEO, AND GREG. WHAT A SPECTACULAR NIGHT. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE IT HAPPEN.

I was truly amazed with the show. I could not sit down. I attended the Columbus Ohio concert and it was the best ever. I drove 4 hours from Detroit because the tickets were sold out and it was worth it. I have always enjoyed Prince's music but this took the cake. He really proved that he is a musical genius. Outstanding is the first word that comes to mind when I think of the show. I was in tears it was beautiful. The change was a good one and the mix with the old and the new was awesome. TRULY CLEVER. and the guitar speaks for itself.

from Adam

The show was amazing! And thats just in terms you can understand. I got to chat with Prince after the soundcheck was over. It was the best. We asked all kinds of questions... and Prince had all kinds of answers. He sat 3 ft away so I had to ask as many as I could. He showed me his Ibanez with George's signature on the back. I offered him my guitar pick- he gave it back- when I asked what type he used he said "My own." It was too much fun. And then he let me keep his pick. Whose the neatest? Prince! Thank you for such a wonderful experience and for listening. I also hung out with John Blackwell after the show and Greg. Then Maceo came out and chatted with us for a bit. I met the beautiful Mani- who seemed that she as happy we were there as we were. We gave her a flier. We talked with Billly Sparks. Everyone with Prince we met just gave off the greatest of vibes. Renato did beautifully! A healthy addition.
Prince- remember- I told you you have to come to my concert- It'll happen soon enough. See you in Cleveland.
Have some more questions for ya. Thank you.

I attended the concert at the Ohio Theater. I walked to my front row seats not sure what to expect from Prince and the NPG. I left the theater almost threes hours later thinking I owe Prince an apology. I should have known what to expect, especially since I am a member of the NPGMC; Prince is a musical genius. The concert was great, the members of NPGMC were treated like royalty. Prince interacted with the audience several times, at one time he walked off the the stage and asked the question "are you are a follower or a leader" only true fams of Prince knew he was speaking about following God. I felt he was comfortable with the Columbus crowd and was feeling Columbus feeling him. I now know, anything Prince does is done with excellence and perfection.

May God bless you throughout the rest of the tour.

eye m not even kidding around -- u have to see this MF show!!! eye drove all the 2 Columbus from Detroit and it was worth it 10 times over! eye have seen Prince O(+> a few times and this was, by far, the most incredible xperience. eye was closer than eye have ever been before and it really made a difference. the music was tight and powerful. eye m really bad with set lists but eye do know he played 'rainbow children' 'muse 2 the pharoh' '1+1+1=3' 'mellow' 'when u were mine' 'take me with u' 'raspberry beret' and more and more and more!!! he had us chanting "ohiiiiiiiiio" throughout the night much 2 every1's delight. he was in great spirits 2night that is 4 sure. he asked the crowd if it was better 2 b a leader or a follower and almost every1 screamed out "leader!". then he asked a few select people the same question and they all answered "leader". he asked who thought it was better 2 b a follower and selected 4 of those people....then he told them 2 follow him on stage....it was so great! i cannot imagine b-ing chosen 2 b on stage with the incredible Prince and the NPG.

from G Brown

Outstanding performance! To hear the Rainbow Children CD is one thing, to experience most of the songs live is another. As Prince said, it was a show for musicians and people who like music.

I am still in shock over Family Name. That was one of the best live performances of any song by any artist. It would be nice to see that track make its way into the club for a download. Let people get a taste of what the show is like.

Peace,
G Brown

what a tremendous show.....Prince returned to columbus and jammed like i had never seen him jam before (although i heard he had done shows like this during lovesexy and sott tours). it does pay to be a member of the club. we were entitled to visit sound check in which prince played an instrumental version of "she loves me 4 me", rocked out on a long version of "peach", jammed on "the ride".. and played this very cool version of "dolphin" my fav from that album. he allowed fams that new how to play instruments to actually go on stage and play and they did to "when u were mine".
i think the best part of soundcheck was our rap session. i remember asking him what inspired "the last december" because it really makes u think about the events of 911. he responded by asking what i was doing and how was i feeling. Scared and confused. he told us to seek the truth by studying to not become fearful.
The show itself was marvelous!!!he opened with "rainbow children",went to "muse to the pharoah" and then into a jazzy madhouse like jam. he went old school with "rollercoaster" and did some of his old stuff : "when u were mine" , "raspberry beret", "take me with u", "starfish and coffee" ,"under the cherry moon", "sometimes it snows in april", "how come u dont call me anymore" to name some.
the highlight for me was when during the show he asked if it was better to be a leader or a follower and i was the first to say follower and he looked at me and asked me to follow him on stage along with 3 other fams. he shook our hands and treated us like guests asking us what we wanted water tea coffee juice merchandise? i said water..and merchandise. the last number was from LOVESEXY(love that title), Anna Stesia. i dont htink he could have ended the show any better (except maybe with "the last december") once again thank you prince and the npgmusic club.. god bless u all. cant wait for the cleveland show!!!!!!!!!

To the fams, friends, and fans:
Thanks for making this concert one of my favorites. How many people can rock a Steelers coat at a Prince concert? I felt like such an oddball, but I loved it all. Now on to the review. Because of some of the earlier reviews from Saginaw and Chicago, I was expecting people to get upset for this NOT being a "greatest hits" show. Now there were times when people were looking a little bewildered, but what I noticed was it was mostly the older crowd. The younger crowd was hyped. So many virgins. I also thought people would be mad about those who stood and danced a lot. But a lot of people stood and danced a lot. My only request to all audience members... don't be afraid to mix and mingle and meet new people, especially in line and in the lobby. It makes the vibe so much more festive. I've always had this vision of everyone sharing love and just enjoying the huge melting pot, but people are kind of just sitting back in their own cliques watching, almost in awe of just being there. Don't watch the experience... live the experience. God truly is love.

To Prince,
Again, thanks. You have no idea how appreciative I am. Elvis and Mike never hung out with their peeps the way you are. Sound-check alone made my day. I was so hoping you was gonna rock 777-9311, but I ain't mad. You still played all my favorites... dolphin, the ride. Can we get Beautiful Strange in Louisville or Indy? Please? The moon boots were on point too. They had you running around like an athlete, walking rails and all. They have to be healthier for your feet. I can see all kinds of outfits designed around that style of boot. The casual/sporty look is a welcomed change, and I'm sure your feet are thanking you too. One important question. A few of us were confused. A leader or follower of who? That kind of determines our answer.

In closing, I just want to ask that everyone say a prayer for me. I live in Cincinnati, OH. I have a football tryout in Indianapolis, IN on Friday the 8th, another in Atlanta, GA on Saturday the 9th, then I drive up to Louisville, KY for the concert that same day. And then I'm driving back to Indianapolis, IN on Monday the 11th for that concert. So wish me safe keeping on the road and pray that I make one of those teams. Prince, you're doing some serious traveling in comparison to me. Stay healthy in all ways, and keep on enjoying life. God has given you a green light, my nizzle. My prayers are with you.

Experience a TP-vision

To all you "fams" out there wondering if you should spend the money and go to Prince's latest gig... like Nike says, "Just do it." I don't know what the highlight of the day was for me. First about 50 lucky NPGMC members got into the soundcheck to hear a funked out version of Peach, a slow jam on The Ride (yeah P.... we got the time), and a super cool version of my favorite track Dolphin. I thought I would never hear that song live again. Then Prince asks people up on stage and some guy knows the chorus to When U were mine... Prince about fell over. After that he comes down and talks with everybody for about 25 minutes.

So if I fell down and didn't make it back into the show it would still have been a great day, but at the show Prince opens with Rainbow Children, Muse 2 the Pharaoh, and one other track and then asks people if they would rather be a leader or a follower. Of course, he is talking about following God, so I answer "follower" along with three other people and he says, "Then follow me." Up on stage we go, and he asks us if we need anything ! Water, coffee, tea... he is holding a concert and he treats us like guests on his stage. I shook hands with the man, and said thanks for "doing the work". We got to stay up on stage for about an hour, and then were given T-shirts and escorted back to our seats. The show was outstanding with an encore of some popular songs and Anna Stesia as a closing song. So powerful. The little fella still has it, and I hope everyone gets a chance to see him that can. Thank you Prince, for making my night. See you in Louisville...

"As good as it gets" I have been waiting for a show like this. Columbus' nite was OUTSTANDING. Intimate, mature, and well worth the wait, I don't think that anyone left disappointed. The music varied from beautiful and funky to hip and inspiring. The Prince I saw last night was the Prince that leaves me speechless. It was one of the most incredible concerts that I've experienced. The music and creative arrangements were in full bloom. The venue (Ohio Theatre) was perfect. I re-discovered my life long passion with Prince's artistry.

I saw the last show in Columbus (2001) and it was good, but I felt that I had experienced "Prince, mass media style", but tonite was different. I like the unique, independant, up-front and if-you-don't-know, NOW-ya-know production that I witnessed at "One Nite Alone..." Please keep it up. I know that we fans expect so much, but I'll gladly take a nite like tonite and one CD per year. I love you all - the crew, the band, Prince, and the fans. This is the stuff that makes life so much better. Be safe on the road and take the best care of yourselves that you can - We've got a lot of living to do and I can't imagine it without you. ROCK ON YAW, ROCK ON.

By the way - Maceo, Rhonda, the Trombone Player, the keyboard player AND my man on the drums were LOUSIANA SPICY CHICKEN AND GUMBO HOT! Peace and mad love - ELove

high,
it's about 2am in the morning and i cannot believe what i witnessed today. first of all, the soundcheck. the soundcheck!!!! dyn-o-mite!!! words cannot express how cool it was to see prince and the band get down in front of about 50 or so people. the highlight of the soundcheck: prince letting 'fams' get on the stage and play their version of when you were mine...hilarious!! afterwards prince made a joke about this big brother who was singing on stage. he said something to the effect of the brother looking like barry white but sounding like halle berry.
the show was excellent..i will not ruin it for people who have not been. but, if you've been around for a while, you will not be disappointed. the set list consisted of material from trc and some surprises along the way. one of the highlights was the santana medley..p, how about incorporating europa or stone flower, huh???good night all. i have to re-enter babylon tomorow
thank you so much prince and the npgmc

Prince's setlist was a Godsend for his longlong "Fams". The Npg were at their best last night, especially John Blackwell. I never knew Rhonda had such a sweet voice. Prince you consistently outdo yourself everytime I see you perform. I wish there was a way for Prince to appreciate what the audience experiences. I hope he knows how much we adore and admire him. Prince's musicianship inspires me to be the best in my own life endeavors. Peace + B Wild !!!!
