twenty years ago, i was not able to go to a Prince concert or have his music in my home. i was raised a Jehovah's Witness and the Prince of that time was definately taboo in my household. Unfortunately, i did not appreciate what my parents were trying to instill in me as a young adult and as a result, i fell on hard times and took a lot of hard knocks due to the fact i turned my back on my God for something i thought was better out there.

Anyway, i am grown up now with a wonderful family and loving husband. but something was still missing in my life, Jehovah. Being the wonderful man he is, my husband surprised me with tickets at 2 pm the day of Prince's concert here in Buffalo. I expected to hear great music of course, but i walked away with something more, i began growing my spirtual conscience again. When he performed one of my favorite songs "Purple Rain", he changed the words to "if you want a leader, you better open your bibles and let it guide you...", something snapped and i realized the answer i was looking for was on my bookshelf the entire time. So the next day, I did open it and realized it wasn't 1984 anymore and that only so much time left to straddle the fence.

Hello, I just want to let you know that I love your music so much that my daughter went to see you in Buffalo Ny for the first time. Now she can't stop playing your music or talking about you everyday. I seen you at a show way back when in Philadelphia Pa. and I had a wonderful time then. I will be going to the show in Md. My daugher and I live in Delaware which is a very small state, so traveling seven hours to NY or three hours to Md is always worth the time. Never stop being the wonderful person you are, and I hope one day my daughter and meet you and at a show.

I was at the Buffalo concert. The first 48 NPG Music Club members got to sit in the pit and they were given blue bracelets to wear so we could get back in. So I got to be in the front row! When I first walked in he was just standing there playing his guitar looking fine as usual and as I was putting my jacket on the seat he said, "You, where is your tickets stub at?" I said, "Right here!" and held it up for him to see. He waived me over to the stage and took the ticket from me looking at it and smirking and looking back at me. I said, "Am I cool?" and he laughed and said, "Yeah your cool." and just kept laughing. He was totally pulling my chain! Then he answered some questions and he said he would be performing in Toronto during this tour. He also stated that new albums would be coming out, but not in stores. That they would only be available for members and that it was a surprise as to when they would be released. He said it was going to be a while before any new albums would be released in stores. Then he pulled a group of people up on stage to sing backup for him. He turned around and said, "You know your doing this for free right?" And everyone started laughing. So when the chorus came they just stood there and didn't say a word. Then he stopped playing and said, "The chorus...yeah that would be you guys." Then someone in the audience said, "Thats what you get for free!" And Prince busted out laughing. Then he pulled more people up on stage which included me. And we all sang the song with him. Then we all went back outside to wait for the concert. Prince walked buy like 3 times and once with Manuella. 2 people behind us took pictures whichc was soon followed by security guards yelling, "Give us the film!" Thats why I didn't bring a camera LOL. We went in to the concert and it was amazing. Absolutely truly amazing. almost 3 hours long! He asked me during the concert if it was better to be a follower or a leader. I said a leader. Then he said does anyone think it's better to be a follower and some people started cheering. He pointed at a guy and said, "Do you wanna follow me for a little while?" and the guy followed him up on stage and Prince asked him if he could get him anything like water, coffee or tea? and the guy said he was fine. He also pulled 2 girls up on stage..Juanita! U go girl! and another girl i never got her name but we hung out at the after party. He also pulled the ushers up on stage after telling them to drop their popcorn. It was so exciting. he even came out in the audience and stood on a chair telling everyone to raise their hands. The after party was awesome. I danced to Prince songs and met a bunch of amazing people. Then Prince came out and performed. Styling his new short hair cut and white hat and glasses. Let me just tell you. My dreams came true that night! I got to talk to Prince! Thats all I have ever wanted since I was four years old...to meet the most talented musician I have ever heard! He has definitly outdone himself on this tour!

Hi:

Its been three days since the Buffalo show and my head is still spinning!!!

First, I'd like to address the treatment of the NPGMC members...

We were treated like we were part of the crew. The sound check was an amazing experience. Prince thanking us for being there was truly righteous...Comparing this year to last year - 1000% improvement. I'd pay triple for the membership...

The interactions I had members of the crew were incredible...specifically Takumi , Billy, Dizzy D., John Blackwell (My sister says thanks for the sticks), and Maceo...they all really took the time to hang and chat and answer all of our stupid questions...

Second, let's talk about the music...

The man is back!!! I just wish the rest of the fans would progress. As I sat at Marcella Club before the show, I couldn't believe the number of people who wanted to hear old school Prince and at the same time hadn't even heard The Rainbow Children. Their loss, I guess. But, after the show I talked to some of those same people and they had an expected change of heart...

Prince, if cool is dead, your bringing it back to life!

Thirdly, the cigarette incident.

I was the guy who was chided for smoking during the after show in front of the stage...thanks Prince, I haven't had one since then...

Peace and I'll see you in DC!

i am from toronto and since prince wasn't coming here on this leg of the tour, it was an easy drive to get to the Buffalo concert... everyone i met that was in the npg club had come from somewhere else. i met club members from as far as california and italy.

PRINCE'S MUSIC PROVIDES A NATURAL HIGH... thank you so much for FEEDING MY SOUL in a way that nothing in this world can. only those who experience this can relate. i have been fortunate enough to have seen prince live many times, and it only gets better and better. i have supported him for nineteen years. i have gone to both celebrations and will be going again in june... i am grateful that prince is committed to SHARING HIS VISION AND TALENT WITH US IN SUCH EXTRAORDINARY WAYS.

the inception of the club has created a new FAMILY. i feel like we are in a community of our own... and it was apparent again at the Buffalo show. the PRIVILEGE of being part of the sound checks and after shows... makes you feel like you're family and that you are LOVED.

the AFTER SHOW ROCKED... i could have stayed till the sun came up and went down again! a real funky jam session party... laid back and yet INTENSE... prince, john, larry, rhonda, renato, maceo, greg... UNBELIEVABLE... i felt that prince and the npg gave US EVERYTHING THEY HAD! with much love and respect i say THANK YOU!!

after the after show ended... i gave john blackwell a photocopy of a print that i had bought in new orleans back in 1996. when i saw the artwork for the rainbow children... it reminded me of the print i had and loved... stylistic, funky, musicians playing jazz. i thought that maybe if John could show it around... this artist may be discovered and commissioned to do a painting for the npg. i didn't put my name on it anywhere... but i would be curious to find out what people thought of it. THANKS JOHN for not only your amazing talent but also for interacting with us after the show.

peace,
mary

It Was A Dream!

The Arrival

I had the best time of my whole life March 7th, 2002 in Buffalo. I took a friend and myself on an 7 hour drive all the way from CT. It was easily worth 10x that distance! We left around 7:30am and arrived at our hotel around 2:45pm. We relaxed for about an hour then took a cab to the concert hall. We arrived there around 4pm and met 2 other Prince Fams. We all went and asked where the line would start and stood there. Myself and my friend were the 1st 2 in line, followed by Jim and his girlfriend. We talked about Prince and time flew. The line got bigger and before u knew it around 6ish, the doors were opened. We went in line, single file and were giving a laminated pass and a blue wristband. Billy from 'Purple Rain' was putting on the wristbands! He put #1 on mine! I waited for my friend and the couple we met to get through the process and we headed towards the concert hall doors. I walked in behind the couple and was amazed to see Prince standing on center stage jamming with guitar. We walked to the very front of the stage were they had plastic chairs ready for us to sit down on and the best night of my lifetime begain.....

The Sound Check

We walked to the front of the stage and sat down and Prince looked at us and simply said "Whats up?" I wish i could turn back time so i could have just talked normal talk with him but i had no idea i was going to get to talk to him. Then he said "Those are going to be your seats." I didnt understand what he meant at 1st but later we found out that we were going to be allowed the same pit seats we were in now, during the concert. So then Prince jammed for a while with Larry. Larry slapped that bass like no other bass player i ever seen. He was NASTY and FUNKY and just AWESOME to watch. Prince said, "You're gonna' sweat that suit off Larry!" and seemed to enjoy watching Larry show off to us as much as we did. Prince was playing along on guitar a lot and jammin! I was the 3rd to the left seat in the very FRONT! When Prince stood and played in the center front of the stage i could of reached out and grabbed his ankle! Thats how close i was for the soundcheck AND the whole Concert! Anyways, Then Larry leaves and Prince calls for Rhonda. While he was waiting for Rhonda he stood on center stage in front of the mic and tryed making small talk with us. I think we were all still in awe at being RIGHT THERE. So we, as a group, asked some questions and chatted with Prince for a while. Once again i wish i could have turned back time so i could have really asked him things i always wanted to. But i was not mentally prepared for the reality of being basically face to face with my musical love. Then Rhonda came out and they jammed some more. After some minutes Prince asked for some of us to come up and sing the chorus for "Last December." Twelve people went up, then another 12 to the other side (which i was part of). I walked within 1 foot of Prince and he was the same height as me. I am 5'3". But his presence on stage is that of a GIANT. We sang the chorus with Prince on stage!!! After that We sat back down, Prince said "See you tonight." Then we had to leave the whole concert hall and get back in line at the entrance. But we were the only ones with the VIP passes and blue wristbands so we were going to get our seats back. Plus that really nice girl we met got a little idea. We went back to the front of the line and asked the people there what tickets they had. We all had better tickets then them. So we offered them our tickets if they let us cut them. So of course they did. And once again we were the first people let in for the concert. And we got to see Prince walk by 2 times with some sexy latina!

THE CONCERT

We walked back to our seats. Same ones! And sat down and chatted with each other, just like we did at the sound check before. It was truely like one big family. Before you know it, You hear drums from the back curtain. Then horns and Maceo and another horn player start walking down from the center isle to the stage. They reach the stage. The curtain opens and there Prince is again, 3 feet in front of me on stage! Talking with the deep voice that 'The Rainbow Children' opens up with. I was in a dream. The whole night myself and fellow NPGMC music members were basically part of the concert. I mean we were RIGHT THERE! My friend and myself were screaming, yelling, clapping. We were the loudest ones there and i think we were a big help to Buffalo cause I kind of sensed Prince feeding off our excitment. At one point while he was doing his piano stuff. He was getting up cause he put his hand to his ear to see if anyone was singing along and he got up but me and my friend started shouting the lyrics even louder and he said "alright, alright" and sat back on the piano and kept playing the song. At least in my head, i will always believe that my friend and i had an affect on Prince during a concert. I mean, for any Prince Fam, how much better can it possibly get? The Concert was like no other. This was my 4th Prince concert and with the VIP passes that NPGMC has allowed me to have i have experienced something that every Prince Fam dreams about. To Have a chance to personally interact with someone you have admired and felt so close to (through his music) for so many years. My Dream came through March 7th, 2002.....

The After Party

After the concert we went to the after party. We had our wristbands and our VIP pass so we got through and were truely treated as if we were personal friends of Prince or something. Everyone else had to wait in line and pay to get in. We waited like an hour or so in the after party area. I sat further back because i was eating but i was still only about 15 feet from stage. Prince came out with his band and just jammed. I mean JAMMED. The sound check, concert, and after party were mostly rock/jazz/funk type music. Prince just was jammin on guitar and even though i couldnt really see him to much, i heard him and it was awesome. Basically with the power the NPGMC gave me by allowing me that wristband and that VIP pass. I was giving a night that i always thought i would only be able to dream about. NPGMC has truely allowed Prince to come face to face with his Fams, and bring their dreams to life..... THX NPGMC, but most of all..... THANKS PRINCE!!!!!!

Your Loyal Fam, Arthur =-)

I live in New York City and had to drive seven.......yes ladies and gentlemen seven hours to get to buffalo! I only do this for Prince. Only you beloved, only for you:-). I dragged my Mom and my godmother with me on this fantastic and emotional journey. And the whole experience was amazing ... simply amazing.

Out of all the Prince concerts I have EVER been to (and that is a lot)! This is the absolute best performance I have ever experienced and the happiest I have ever seen him on stage. Having the chance to go to the sound check, being in that intimate atmosphere and getting an opportunity to see the view from the stage after being invited up was an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. Just for the record I knew ALL OF THE WORDS TO THE CHORUS :-)

The concert was phenomenal and the aftershow was just the best experience. I had the time of my life. The band was in top form and as always seeing Larry Graham was a pure pleasure. It was truly and emotional roller coaster ride for me. To top the whole experience of I was staying at the same hotel Prince was staying. I don't believe in luck and just sheer coincidence so this was the icing on the cake. It was about 6 or 6:30 when we got down to the lobby to leave and as I was going out the hotel to the parking garage to get my car.....his bus pulls up. I walk out, the door opens and his bodyguard comes out, starts smiling at me and says "How you doing." I was about to stop and go back into the lobby but I was going on hours of sleep in a 48 hour time period so I just let it go and let Prince go to his room in peace. My godmother got an experience of a lifetime seeing him walk through the lobby and give her a smile before going into the elevator and that gives so much joy to see her so happy.

Prince, thank you for an experience of a lifetime. I have loved you music since I was 8 and with unwavering conviction. Throughout all of my years of growing up and out to be and adult you music was there to soothe my growing pains. I never would have dreamed I would have and experience so phenomenal and have so many close encounters with you on a constant flow. How did you like the hotel... I thought the service was great how about you? :-)

Peace and tranquility,
Nyree.

from Jeff

Wow.

I didn't think you could ever top the experience of the Montreal Jazz Festival: the entirety of the festival, topped off by a fantastic Prince show (or was it two?). But... the sound check was awesome, getting up close and personal adds a whole new dimension. The concert was easily the best I've ever seen. And seeing it from on-stage, how could anything compare! (And yes, I really am a follower in the instance in question.) Maceo is always awesome (Rochester is waiting to see you again!) and the rest of the band was phenomenal. The after show was a blast. "Admission is easy, just say U believe." (Anyone going to future shows might want to study up on that one!)

How lucky are those of us along for this ride?

I was at the Buffalo show last night. I was early enough to attend the sound check which was great. You really feel a sense of closes with him. He makes you feel welcome. I was also one of the few lucky people that got a blue band and was able to enjoy the show right up close. Prince was fabulous and the energy he created was amazing. It was one of his best shows. I am from Toronto and I wait patiently for him to return.

Thanks for such a great night.

After being introduced to your music by my mother, back in the late 70's, I have continued the journey ever since. I have seen you perform three times before; this concert in Buffalo being my fourth. I was in complete awe last night! I went to this concert last night thinking, "How can this man top himself after seeing him perform so well before?" But you did! By steping back and eliminating all the glitz and glam, and giving your fans the true you, you proved once again what a true artist and musician can be.

My favorite song is Anna Stesia, so I guess you could only imagine the feeling I had when you started to perform it for your final piece. I could barely get the lyics out of my mouth because I wept the whole time.

I just wanted to thank you and your band for making last night an unforgettable evening for me. The list of songs that you performed were all of the songs that I dreamed hearing live. Thank you for staying true to yourself and your style and not giving into what others expect you to be, and also awaking me again. Peace in your journeys, Ed.

from Steve

What an amazing show, The soundcheck was incredible, I mean c'mon, how often do you get to sing Last December with Prince. The concert was amazing Family Name is much better when heard live and the energy of the place was blue electric. Prince had everyone in the palm of his hand, stand up sit down, whatever he wanted. He was right when he said that this tour was for the fams. He let us know with the laid back vibe, that it wasn't 1984 anymore. Now to the after show, I feel for the people who had to pay to get in but the amount of money that was paid for this ticket was more than worth it with an aftershow as incredible as this one. He played some classics that I didn't think would ever be played, like Calhoun Square, Dolphin, and Paisley Park. Unfortuneately I was pulled on the stage only to mess up the chorus of Paisley Park, but what can you do when you're standing face to face with the greatest musical genius of our time. I don't regret not sleeping and falling asleep in my classes one bit after a show like that.

from Rich Van Koughnett

Thank you for coming 2 Buffalo. I am a native and have seen Prince in Detroit, Vegas, Toronto, Cleveland and b4 in Buffalo. I was a bit nervous of the crowd with the set lined up, not being a greatest hits tour. I don't know what I am more impressed with, that the crowd had such a good time with you, or that you worked us up so much. The singing was perfect, the guitar was amazing. It was the first time I heard the Santana medley. What a homage. Anna stesia was always a favorite of mine so that was great. I especially appreciate Prince giving shout outs to Jesus Christ. He had the house lights on so much, it was like we were all just hanging 2gether. I wish he would have played last December, and I dont think I would have been able to walk if he would have played everlasting now. Didnt expect him to play guitar for 1+1+1=3. The Abraham Lincon song was great. The new key board player is great, very jazzy. I am sooo glad Johny B. is in the band. My wife and I had a special moment when he sang adore. And Strange relationship was one of those songs I never thought I would get 2 hear live but did! It is soo good 2 know where God stands in your life , and U proved that U don't have 2 curse all night 2 B funky. Thanks 4 the after show. I had 2 get home 2 our daughter so I missed it, but it shows U enjoyed Buffalo enough 2 stay up all night with us. Come back any time, this town will be here 4 U.

from Mike

Just got back from another magical night with the Genius. Is there anything cooler then going into the sound check and then having a chat with the little wizard? He did confirm the tour will be coming to Canada in the summer. Coolest part of the sound check was the genius's version of "Last December" while he brought fans on stage to help out with the chorus. I couldn't go on stage cause I was still throwing up from the fact that I hadjust spoken to him. The wee one had some kind of magical energy going on tonight. The version of "Muse 2 the Pharaoh" had me puking again itwas so damn cool. The after party show was just another example of the most talented man to ever exist showing what music is supposed to feel like.

from Junaita

What a night it has been. Eye did not think the music could sound much better then the but prince worked a magic tonight that only he can. I've been a fan for 23 years and this was the best concert eye have ever seen. Tonight eye heard some of the most beautiful, inspirational and thought provoking music. Prince seemed very comfortable with the crowd, he played and smiled alot, we loved it. He managed to keep the crowd on their feet and participating throughout most of the concert. Their are no words to describe the band, that has 2 be the finest group of musicians ever to be assembled. We had a sound check, which was a great experience, a group of us got to go on stage to sing the chorus from last December. The best surprise of the night came when the 1st 40 club members got to sit in special seats in the orchestra pit which was right at the stage. We had a great time getting 2 know 1 another and partying. During the concert 2 my amazement prince chose me 2 come on stage with another lady 2 dance, that made it special because he chose me. eye was a little reluctant at 1st, but eye told myself this will probably never happen 2 me again so go for it, eye am glad eye did eye had alot of fun. when it was over he shook both are hands and thanked us for coming up it was an incredible experience. larry graham was their for the sound check and the after party for me that was and added bonus because no one plays bass like larry graham. The after party was awesome they played for another 2 hours and 45 minutes. The energy that prince and his band still had was amazing. At the end eye got to shake hands with john blackwell (drummer extrodinare) and eye got a hug from gregg boyer. This meeting was 23 years in the making for me and it was worth the wait. After just one concert, i feel like my membership could be twice what i paid and that still would not be enough. eye am looking forward to this years celebration, so we can do it all again. What a ride. Prince thank you for making the club members feel so special, you truly are a remarkable individual. prince god bless you and your band and may all of you stay safe, happy and heathly throughout the rest your journey, and prince remember change is good.

from Big Mitch

First let me say that if you have not seen the One Night Alone Tour featuring our friend Prince, to date you have missed out. I am a Buffalo native who now resides in Atlanta and thanks to some acute timing and being a member of the prestigious NPG Music Club found myself front row center stage at Shea's last night for an awesome performance. It was good to be back home and see the show, I took my younger brother with me (who has never seen Prince in concert) and he was floored. I guess the best way to describe the last night's show is exhilarating!! Prince showed the full array of his multi-faceted, music ability, the show was an eclectic blend of urban funk, jazz, rock, and spirituality. The message to us was clear. Prince has achieved what so many others are striving for he has not only transcended his music but also himself. He dazzled us all playing almost all of the recent music from the Rainbow Children and magically reached back in time to give us all a taste of the classics!! He has finally put together the perfect band, with the addition of Maceo Parker the funky horn and wind section is unparalleled!!

Prince so easily added funky renditions of Rollercoaster by the Ohio Players, several James Brown hits accentuated by Maceo Parker and himself, and to my surprise (imagine that) Another Star by Stevie Wonder! (How many people caught that!) After playing for two full hours he returned to a now rejuvenated crowd (thanks to him of course) to thrill us all with most of the melodic soul filled favorites that makes him truly an icon in this music industry that is in such disarray because of the lack of quality music ability. He played lively versions of Anastasia, Sometime It Snows In April, I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore (one of my favorites) and a funky version of HIS How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore. Which would surely make Alicia Keys a little reluctant to return to her piano!! Still with all the music and time he covered in 2 hours and 45 minutes there were a few Naysayers who clamored for the old stuff. I Can't blame them the man has so many hits, but like I told one person too much music, so little time. Besides he gave us a hint when he song Purple Rain, It's time to reach out for something new, this ain't 1984 but 2002! Prince has transcended and stood the test of time he is always progressively moving forward and the material and presentation was the best I've seen to date. (And I have caught all the shows since the Purple Rain Tour) If you are not a member of the NPG Music Club, What Are You Waiting For!! I will see you in Atlanta my brother much peace, love, and continued prosperity, you deserve it. Until then Nothing Compares 2 U!!

from Dawnette

It's been almost 12 hours since I left the venue where the concert was held and I still feel exhilirated, I can't begin to describe the show. Prince, as I knew for years now is truly a man of his word! A musician in his own rite! The band was exquisite, the pianist, bass player, saxophonist, and trombone were hittin' it like never before! And the drummer! OFF THE HOOK! All the music and words were absolutely wonderful! Prince is a true MASTER! I LOVE HIS ARTISTRY! He is MAGNIFICENT! The show was one that you just cannot describe to another! You just HAD TO BE THERE, and if you weren't then you've missed it! I will never pay to see any other artist because there is truly no one on the level that PRINCE is! For people to compare him to the likes of others is just rude and unacceptable because no one, and I mean NO ONE compares to PRINCE!

The audience was filled with all ages which was a statement that says Prince has evolved and people love him! He had you goin' from the beginning of the show! The 2nd half was opened with him breaking into the intro of "Adore" (one of my favorites, but they're all my favorites!) and him pausing saying something like "Yall ain't ready for that". And then after all the applause and screams for more he continued! He took you back, and I mean way back...

He came with a message, and the message was received with open arms!

I pray that God continues to bless Prince and his new wife and the NPG you all are a talented group of individuals truly blessed by the man above!

Come back to Buffalo or the surrounding area soon cuz I'm there!

Much love from a HUGE fan in Buffalo!

Ron and Ali could not have said it better! Prince, you bring me joy. Never in my life have I been able to dance, cry, question my spiritual path and praise my sexuality all at the same time as I do when I hear your music. Spirituality and sensuality have blended and landed in the land of funk! Originally from Buffalo, and now living in Rochester, NY, my friend Ed and I came to see you only to be completely blown away by a performance that is unmatched in our minds and souls. "Sometimes it Snows in April" and "I Love You But I Don't Trust You Anymore" are my two favorite songs and to watch you perform them side by side, just you and the piano... well, I am crying again as I type this. The two most beautiful songs ever written, and I had a selfish little moment like you sang them just for me, knowing that it was like a dream come true. I felt the hand of God last night as you performed. We are blessed to have you living in our lifetime, handing us the opportunity to get our groove on and get funky, while reminding us forever of the importance of God and our spirituality. To anyone else who may read this, make sure you read the review by Ron. I can't top his eloquence at describing an evening that I will never forget. Prince One Night Alone is a concert that has surpassed what any other concert will ever do in our time on this planet. Prince, if you are ever in Rochester, stop by and say hey! I love you and thank you from the bottom of my humble heart. peace. daniel

I had to post his (4:30 a.m.) I just returned to Toronto from the Buffalo show/after party. Words cannot truly express the feelings I feel right now, though I will attempt to use them to illustrate the uplifted, beautiful feelings that resound in my heart and mind. The show was so excellent that after years of obsessing at Jazz festivals and countless concerts from some of the worlds greatest performers, I feel that I have witnessed a new "revelation" of sorts. The orchestration and assembly of songs and jams were so incredible that the word epic comes to mind. I could not have been more blown away than I was sitting there having a wall of sheer pleasure hit me from all sides. Simply awake inspiring to the point where I found myself kind of chuckling, dumb founded. After leaving the show I simply didn't know what to do with myself, how to satiate my need for more of this god given talent, to which I owe so much thanks for the feelings I felt tonight alone. It was at this point that the after show at the Traf came to my attention and I was informed that there would be another performance by the band. Needless to say, My girlfriend and I went straight inside the club. both of us were giddy with excitement. The experience that ensued is one for the record books. The dirty, nasty, hip shaking swamp funk is what it was. I have not gotten down that hard in years, and, in fact, I did not think I would ever feel that uncontrollable surging of spirit, mind and body. My ears and mind were on fire. This was the real deal folks, the kind of thing you see in dreams, literally. Larry Graham came out for the first half an hour or so, before Ronda resumed her role as bass maestro. I am pretty tired now so I will not elaborate, but let it be known that Prince's guitar lines cut deep in to physic an I believe him to be one of the greatest genius's of all time. To label him simply a musical genius would undermine the true complexity of his inspired existence. There are people that are here to facilitate the growth of many, rather than simply provide "entertainment". If your checking this Prince, I was the guy freaking out dead centre behind the little crowd in front of the stage. I am a musician/engineer who studies your mixes for hours upon hours in the control room and I simply wish to extend a formal thank you.
Peace to everyone and everything.
Ron.

Words cannot express what I feel right now. I just came home from Shea's Performing Art Center in Buffalo NY. This was a breathtaking - awe inspiring experience. I am not going to tell you about the songs performed because they have been mentioned before. However, I want to speak about the music and the total experience. The music was just incredible....the guitar work was just phenomonal to say the least. When he brought out the Purple Symbol Guitar (I call it the Purple AX)...my heart stopped..cuz I knew that the house would come down. The band was tight; Rhonda Smith was just pure class top to bottom, Maceo blew that horn like no tomorrow, the Organ/Synth player was excellent, and the rest of them brought together the sound. The guitar was just vintage Prince...I hate to make you sound old man but the playing brought tears to my eyes. The overall experience cannot be expressed in words. My wife who comes from Pakistan was just awe struck...that says a lot! The only question I have is why the drummer was behind plexi glass...does that improve the sound of the drums? Never saw this before and just wondered. Young, old, black, white, and even goths (yes there were some Marilyn Manson look alikes at the show) grooved! Buffalo got rocked! That says a lot cuz the town is sleepy...but Prince woke it up 2night! Many people around me had not listened to the Rainbow Children CD but as soon as the sound started everything changed. Not everyone believes in Jesus Christ as the son of God...but the message was positive 2night and love means everything. I am not a member of the NPGMC yet due to monetary reasons...but I always feel connected anyhow. Thank you for coming to Buffalo - NY .... stop again soon.
