Hamilton on June 13 (7 reports)

Truly an excellent performance!
I'm not sure where to start. My high expectations were completely satisfied
to say the least. There's nothing like his facial expressions while tearing
it up on the guitar. Watch out for that guitar solo in "Family Name."
"Cool as the other side of the pillow" is a favourite of mine and was
executed with perfection.
I love how he can make women freak out with the slightest move at the right
time. He was feeling good and joking around with us all night. A true
professional. Larry was a surprise and a great presence too.
I was hoping for an aftershow but I'm guessing they all went back to his new
house in Toronto to chill. See you Saturday night at Massey Hall and thanks
for coming to Hamilton!
Peace to Prince & the NPG and everyone around the world reading this.

P.S. Please do the world a favour and release a live recording of this show
on DVD (or at least a CD). We need to hear it over & over again.

Hey Folks,
Question, …….is it really better to give, than to receive? My answer; it depends on how big your brass is!
What you have given us is the beauty of funk, the power of soul, and the healing inspiration of music. And what we received is a message that beyond all doubt, when you want it bad enough, and when you work your a** off, and your brass is as big as yours, you can do anything u want.
I am a bass player myself, and have the utmost respect for you and your players, (I think I’m in love with Rhonda) but I also have some insight into the record industry. It takes a lot of courage and self confidence to shove the industry aside like you have done, and even more to go on the way you have. There are so many people who need to be taught the lesson of self respect, being real and not to cheat themselves, or their fans (pick any boy band) and you my friend are the professor on the live mic they need.
What I witnessed last night was hands down, 100% funk and its finest played by world class players, Thank you for such a wild show, and keep that funk comin’.

Last night felt like I was giving birth all over again because I felt every emotion known to man all at the same time.
I've had a terrible "case of" Prince for many years and couldn't just wait for the Toronto show alone. My greed led me to Hamilton as well. I wish I had the expressive words to provide you with an actual report of what I saw, heard, smelled, and felt yesterday. As it stands today, I'm still, very much speechless. I can not yet describe it! Everyone has been asking me today "how was it?" All can do is smile broadly like this .
The last time I saw Prince live was in 1997 in Toronto. I never thought that he could actually top that performance however, last night he did just that.
What a night it was!!!!!!!!! Thank you. You all come back real soon now, you hear!

Now I know that Prince himself will not read this, however after just attending his show in Hamilton, and gearing up to attend his show in Toronto, I just had to show my gratitude to him for such an incredible performance. Though I am most familiar with The Purple Rain Era, last night was absolutely spectacular! In retrospect I appreciated hearing his incredible musical evolution, much more than I would have an old re-hashing of days gone by.
Prince had moved me to tears when he first appeared on stage, and for the rest of the evening his voice, its range, and raw emotion renewed those tears over and over.
I appreciate and respect his recent conversion, along with it I understand his conviction to end his days of steamy, crude lyrics. Last night I saw a Prince who although still extremely sexy and sensual, has learned to be so, with subtly and piety. Which I have to say, makes him all the more delicious ;)
So thank you Prince for making my night so absolutely wonderful ... thank you for your enlightening entertainment ... moving spirituality, and thank you for showing me the possibilities of 2002. I look forward to the rest of your career, its ingenuity and experimentation.
By the way, Happy Belated Birthday, and welcome to Toronto!
A fan always,

Hamilton was funked up last night!
My 2nd show of the year(Buffalo was 1st) proved once again, that Prince is a
musician with no equal. I m only 2 happy 2 b able 2 have the chance 2
appreciate his shows in my lifetime and cannot wait for my next opportunity
2 see him perform.
Maceo started us off so sweetly and Prince had the crowd from the word "go"!
The crowd interaction seemed even more prevalent in Hamilton than in Buffalo
and when Larry Graham showed up on stage. Well, I can truly say that seeing
him singing along side Prince was almost 2 much fun 4 us 2 handle.
If u haven't been 2 see a Prince concert, get out while the gettin's good!
Not 2 many people realize how funny this man can be in front of a packed
house! I loved the funk check!!!
Thank u ever so much 4 gracing our Canadian stages with your purest of
talents and please know that u'll always be welcome in land of the leaf.
Love and peace forever,
Jeff Babister

To say the least, it was amazing!
I did not have the opportunity to see Prince live until last night and I was
determined to go. My fiance (who did see your last big concert back in the
80's) and I decided that there are only a handful of people who I would consider
seeing live: Prince, Michael Jackson (until we saw his NYC special), Madonna,
Cher, and the late Frank Sinatra...among others.
Although Prince has released many albums since Purple Rain (and I have a few of
them), I was hoping for certain songs to be performed. However, after last
night, I will never doubt his ability to perform live "with the microphone on"
and his music since the 80's. They have more meaning as he developed as an
artist. WNPG radio station was the best I have ever heard. I was fortunate
enough to get centre seats (Orchestra, row N seats 2 & 4)....and it was one of
the best views I could have asked for. I wish I would have had the opportunity
to sit in the front row, but just being able to see Prince live was something I
thought I would never be able to do. An observation: His speech regarding
change was very very true. Change is good....change makes you grow and I think
Prince has grown not only as a person (mentally, spiritually, etc), but also as
an artist and performer.....my hat comes off to your Prince. May you have the
ability to perform and "look the same" for many years to come.
Wishing you all the best....

Prince - your approach was perfect. I remember being an obsessed 12 year old fan and making my mother read some sort of article about you and she asked me, "What is it about him that you are so interested in? Is it something in you that relates to him or is it something that you don't have?" Well, now I know. What I relate to is your soul. We went "deep" and what we found was love and friendship.Thank you. Now, what I don't have is an ounce of that talent!!!!! The music was incredible. All of it. I knew much would be different at this concert but I wasn't sure what to expect. The real music spoke sincerely. Your voice was beautiful and I truly loved every minute. Keep going, we are all with you. I'm signing up! Much, much, much love!
