First and foremost... the show ROCKED!!! I have been listening to Prince since I was about nine or ten years old. My older cousin, Lorenzo was the "black sheep" of the family and a major Prince fan and he turned me on to Prince back in the days of "I Wanna' Be Your Lover".

Now back in the day, my dad played music by the Stylistics, Ohio Players, the Commodores, Chi-Lites, and many other classics. I recall loving Earth Wind and Fire and dancing to the sounds in the basement. We weren't allowed to listen to EW&F or Prince as kids because of my family's religious beliefs, hence dancing in the basement to avoid the belt.

By the time I left for college I had many Prince records in my "stash" of contraband music. I can remember getting my driver's license in 1987 and on my first solo outing cranking "Hot Thang" with the windows down and the moon roof open!. I just knew that song was about me!! I also remember literally shaking and falling to my knees crying the first time I heard "Adore". I knew that it said everything a man would need to say if he truly loved a woman (I am still waiting for that man too). It became kind of a barometer for me in dating & still is. You can tell alot about a guy from his reaction to that song.

I was always confused by Prince's raw, sexual, explicit lyrical content juxtaposed by his profound sense of spirituality. Having grown up in The Truth, I didn't believe in the cross per se, but I was intrigued by Prince's oxymoronic combination of sex and religion. In college I all but abandoned The Truth and lived in "worldly" ways. I wasn't comfortable in church, or a temple, or a synagogue, mosque or any other place of worship.

I guess where I am going with all of this, is that the Alone show was incredible!! Music is a major part of my life. I fly all over the country to see my favorites, spending thousands of dollars and foregoing a "real" vacation to accommodate my music addiction. I am now in my early thirties and mostly I listen to jazz (Joshua Redman & Christian McBride are some of my faves) so I was thrilled when "Rainbow Children" came out. It was the Bayoc artwork that caught my attention, but the music enthralled me.

When I saw the song titles I was intrigued. I had heard reports about Prince being a Jehovah's Witness, seen him with Larry Graham on television, etc. But when I pushed that "play" button, Prince was dropping science and knowledge on the world! My senses were overloaded between the jazzy sounds and the truth of the lyrics. I called my brother and inquired about returning to the Kingdom Hall, but there was still some trepidation.

It was only after seeing the show on Friday night that I had an epiphany. Anna Stesia had always been a classic to me and to hear it live, in an audience of people who were drinking and smoking yelling "just play 'Purple Rain' " was a life changing moment. I was overwhelmed as I came to the realization that what has been missing in my life for so long is a true, lasting, faithful relationship with God. I left that show on Friday night with a new resolve and purpose in my life.

I guess for me it was more than the incredible live musicians (John Blackwell has stolen the mantle from Brian Blade as far as I am concerned), the jazzy music and old favorites (no Prince DIDN'T throw in those old jams "Rollercoaster" & "La la la la la...." ) that made it the best concert I have ever attended. That Phoenix show literally saved my life, because it moved me to do what I always knew to be right, but was essentially afraid to do. It moved me to reconnect with my spirituality and claim my place in God's kingdom of everlasting peace and happiness in His New Order of things.

When I called my mother back home on Saturday morning, she was shocked by my epiphany. My mom said: "Isn't it ironic... the man whose music you weren't allowed to listen to for fear of your spiritual well-being is the same man responsible for leading you back to it".

Thank you, thank you, thank you, and may God continue to bless you,

Sincerely,
Rachel

The first time I spoke to Prince was at a chance encounter during last year's Celebration in one of the hallways at Paisley Park. My husband Rob & I were trying to locate the gift shop when I suddenly found myself face to face with the man. Needless to say, I was stunned momentarily and when I finally found my vocal cords again, I managed to utter, "Prince...hi...thanks". I've wondered since then if he knew what I was thanking him for (all the wonderful music he's given us over the years & for touching my life the way he has). Now I find myself thanking him again for coming to Phoenix and spending One Night Alone with us fams. What can I say about the experience that hasn't already been said ?

Being able to be at the sound check to watch Prince & the NPG rehearse plus having the opportunity to speak to them one on one is priceless. It's a special gift Prince gives to his Club members and if you aren't one yet you're truly missing out. Plus the preferred seating is a definite bonus !

The concert itself was phenominal and you could tell Prince was feeling the love from the sold out crowd - it showed in his performance which went above and beyond our expectations. The music and the messages were soul touching. It's an experience my husband & I won't soon forget. It also made us even more anxious than ever to go to this year's Celebration (which we have been planning since last year).

This Music Club is one of the best things Prince has ever come up with (besides his music of course !) because it gives his fams an opportunity to love & appreciate his music together. A special thanks goes out to Desiree for helping to keep things orderly with her sign-in sheet which eliminated a lot of problems I'm sure. Some other fams we met & would like to acknowledge are Desiree's husband Frank (you certainly deserve that red hanky after the workouts Prince put you through !), Porsche and TRINOVA (a couple of sweet gals; T- what you told Prince spoke for us all), Scott (enjoyed our conversation a lot), Scott's friend, Matthew (it was fun sitting next to you & seeing how much fun you were having), and Danette (we met at last year's Celebration & connected because we both came from N.M.), plus everyone else we had the pleasure to meet but not the ability to remember your names. My husband & I stood behind you all in line - I was the one with the 4 inch purple glitter heels that were "killing" me. Next time I'll wear shoes with a little less height - ha.

Thanks again to Prince and the NPG for giving us One Night Alone and certainly a night to remember.

Diana

from Nelly

All I have to say is "Prince, you're the wishmaker." I can honestly say that, that lady in red that you had on stage with you, remember the one you were in harmony with, I can honestly bet that she WAS the happiest woman in the world that night. You did an awesome job and I congradulate you on your newest cd.

love always,
**Nelly**

from Travis

For those of you who weren't a part of this magical night, you missed so much more than just music! You missed love, unity, harmony, and God. Thank you so much, Prince, for giving me and my fiance (and the rest of the NPG Music Club members) a night we will never forget.

Not only did we see a wonderful show, but we were treated with respect from the people at Dodge Theater. They chased the non-members out of our "house." We were sitting front row, to the left, and it felt like no one else was in the room except the NPGMC fans and Prince himself.

Hearing so many people say "How come he didn't play his old stuff?" did not know what the message meant.

Much thanks to Big Boy Frank for having an organized line-up before we went in. I was very proud of myself to be a part of such well mannered people during the sound check. All of the songs were perfect from beginning to end (Alexia De Paris is being played at our wedding.)

Thank you Prince for taking me down the road of the past and into the future. Please come back again soon. I will definately be there in June! I can honestly say after his message at the show, I am a follower. (God is Love, Love is God, Girls and Boys love God above.)

Much love to Prince, NPG, and Phoenix NPGMC fans,
Travis (travisnpg)

from Portia

Than You! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! A thousand thank you's couldn't be enough to express the gratitude that comes from this Family member in regards to the spectacular event that took place at The Dodge last night.

The realization that 'membership has its priveleges' started when my guest and I arrived at 2:45PM outside of the theater in line. I got to bond with the fam. (who truly feel like fam to me now) Tronicia, Jim, Scott, Matt, Frank and his wife Desiree, Big Poppa Jay and his wife Tammy (Tammbourine), The couple from New Mexico (can't remember your names!!)

It continued with us being wristbanded and given our awesome laminate member badges. Then we walked ALL the way to the front where I sat 2nd row dead center stage and had the time of my life. Sound check began with The royal one walking down center aisle, nodding his head at us all as we stared in amazement. Then him hopping up on stage. He greeted us and started making sure things were in order on stage with TheNPG band. He talked to us for a bit, and we all got sad at his mention of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' tragic death. He asked a girl to come up on stage and sing but after she refused (Hello? Who are you?!!!) My girl Tronicia volunteered and whispered in his ear. They now have a secret! He wouldn't tell us! Prince and his band were dressed down and comfortable. Some in jeans, The Royal One in some black bootleg pants, a white blouse with a vest over it, a white wool hat and flip flops!! Anyway, Prince and his tight ass band The NPG went on and performed for 1+ hour, and then he said sit back and I'll see you in a little while.

During the hour we had until the show started, we walked around the theater(other fans were already in the lobby), and were still treated like V.I.P.'s We had a separate entrance to go and come through for a little while until a non-member tried to escape down to to the floor level through it. As we stood around chatting, John, the drummer from the band came up and chatted for a sec with us. I also saw Rhonda wandering through. We went and sat down and had the most awesome time of our lives. I have been to about 8 Prince concerts through the years, and this is The BEST show that I have seen. I mean, I really didn't think that Prince would feel Phoenix the way he did, but he did! I am from NYC and I know how he loves to perform for us, but Phoenix had him last night. We definitely had Scuba Gear on. I loved his speaking out on racial issues. I could feel the depth of what he was saying hit everyone. And his message! Prince, I can't tell you what your message did for me last night. You have truly evolved. You are a true Child of God. I feel so excited at how your testimony could change the world. There are so many who look up to you. You have changed your image many times in the past few years, and there were times that I knew you were struggling with something inside. God won. I like this change the best. I am positive that He feels the same way. Thank you for allowing us to hear His message through you. Thank you for allowing your true fans to be the most important people in the place last night. I will always be an NPG Music Club member. I couldn't see him and the band in any other way.

PS- For those of you who think you'll miss the sex show that Prince usually puts on like I though I would. He STILL finds a way to be sexy without throwing it in your face. Just you wait and see.

from Stuart

Oh my God!!! I've waited almost 20 years to see Prince (or the symbol) and it was worth every year. I was in town for a Conference and saw that Prince was playing in Phoenix. Not knowing anyone in town, I decided to call and see if there were tix. Not only were there tix, but they were available an hour before the show. Phoenix...that would NEVER happen in Chicago my home town, but thanks for the opportunity. I quickly got out of my hotel and straight down Washington St. to - from what I hear -the new Dodge Theater. What a wonderful theater. My ticket was in the balcony, but I wasn't quite feeling the politeness and sterile atmosphere up there so I found a seat down on the main floor (again, thanks Phoenix). Everyone who said that the concert was a "spiritual, emotional...." event, I feel you on all of that and then some. I waited years to see Prince because I wasnt sure "Sign of the Times" or "Purple Rain" or any of the other concert shows I've seen in TV or movies could be any better in person. DANG was I wrong! I am so glad however that I did wait, because Prince has matured (as have we all since 1984) and the show was better because of it. I would have LOVED to see the Revolution and Vanity 6 and the Time and the NPG with Rosie Gaines, et al, but this show was something beyond all of that - or more importantly ALL of that. This show was an experience and yes I am experienced now.

For anyone who has never seen Prince, or who, like myself, live in a large city where shows sell out in a matter of minutes, GO SEE THIS MUSICAL GENIUS! I would have loved to have seen John Lennon, or Jimi Hendrix or maybe a few others, but PRINCE is the only musician alive that could inspire me and have HIS music move throughout my body as much as it did. I was almost to tears I was so nervous before the show started, and afterwords, I was almost moved to tears because of the feeling of warmth, hope, love, peace and community that was demonstrated at this conc..this experience.

Love, Peace & Happiness to you Prince, the NPG and everyone!

Stuart

PS - Sorry for your loss about Lisa. Everyone loses when tragedy strikes like this so suddenly.

When I joined the npgmc, I thought I wouldn't be able to wait to send my feedback to the fam and share my thoughts about Prince, the Music, the Experience. However, when I returned home last night after the show, I spent time reflecting and truly wondering what I could do differently to help share the Good News. What a truly inspiring show. I was fortunate enought to see Prince the past 2 times he was here in PHX (Desert Sky and AM West and The Electric Ballroom) yet was brought to tears during this show; more than once. I just wanted to say thanks for an unbelievable night and for the creation of and participation in the npgmucisclub. Thanks to Prince for his words of wisdom and his message! Can't wait until the next time...

First and Foremost, I need to Thank God Almighty for bringing us all 2gether 2 take a moment 2 remember our connection 2 eachother! This show was "right on time" for me! I really needed a dose of New Power Funk 2 remind me of what is truly important in life...
Secondly, Prince and The NPG...Thank U so much 4 UR Time, Energy and Infinite Love. U truly moved me last night! UR words and music have Inspired Me! And U just keep getting better! I can't wait 4 The Celebration! Prince...Thank U for acknowledging those of us who were there 2 learn, as well as 2 listen (and dance our collective booties off). I feel that I gain something with every performance... and every new album. U R Now doing the kind of music I always dreamed U could do! Something Funky...Something Spiritual...Something Meaningful...where the message of Love4OneAnother is the focus. May UR example send a strong message 2 the many other artists who want 2 use their talents 2 inspire others... but instead R being hindered by "Spooky and His Corporate Minions"...and due 2 that can only release what "they" think is marketable. There's a New Day Dawning...and this show was proof of that! I felt Honored 2 have the opportunity 2 b a part of it!
And last but certainly not least...there is "The Rainbow Children". All of U were 2 Wonderful 4 Words. Thank U so much 4 All the Love and Kindness U showed me and eachother! U give me Hope that One Day There Will B Peace...and many of us R Obviously Willing 2 Do The Work from the looks of things. From the moment I stepped up 2 the Dodge Theatre, I was greeted by the warmest, most generous people U could imagine...Thank U 4 making this show so special!I think that has 2 B my favorite part of an NPG Show...All The Beautiful, Kind, Open, Warm, Loving, Generous and Down-Right Groovy people!!!!
Peace and Love 2 U All!

Thank you so much for coming to Phoenix! I was beginning to think you were never coming back, since your last concert here in '97. Truly you are the Artist. Your concert was very inspirational and uplifting. I do pity those that were not able to grasp the whole idea of your message. They are in need of enlightenment. Please bless us again with your presence!

from JBee70

I have been listening to Prince's music since the age of 8! Now at 32, sporting my TAFKAP tattoo on my arm, I have to say that Prince never ceases to be the most amazing and talented performer I've ever had the blessing of being able to see!

If I could make a movie of my life, Prince would be heard in the background throughout! Prince has inspired me to pursue my own talents, from playing the guitar, to dancing, to even my art. My own spiritual growth over the last few years has been a wonderful journey, and it is great to see Prince taking his journey and sharing his experiences and thoughts with us. I am proud and blessed to be in the generation of people that saw Prince from his early days up to now... with all the changes, heartaches, ego trips, looks, hairstyles, videos, and groundbreaking MUSIC most of all.

Thank you Prince for sticking it out in such a difficult business in order to share yourself with the rest of us. I cannot IMAGINE my life without your wonderful sweet sounds to fill every day with inspiration! The Phoenix show was DEEP! Love from the girl from NYC, LA and now AZ!

from RJA,

Kirk Franklin - watch out!…..Jimi Hendricks - start spinning!…Santana - duck!…..Gil Scott-Heron - retire gracefully! There's a new King in town! The show was so sweet, so fine…….better than a warm Krispy Kreme Doughnut! I've been a fan since Purple Rain, but I must admit, joined the NPGMC only last Sunday in order to get a decent seat without the hassle. I had no idea what I was in store for. During an era where people just pay lip service to the idea of "service", I was really blown away by what I got for my money. I was made to feel as though the entire concert, from sound check (aka mini concert) until the end of the show, was done just for NPGMC Members…. Absolutely Amazing! Who had a chance to make small talk with Prince during the sound check? - US! Who was chosen to go up on stage and jam with Prince? - US! Who caught the handkerchief and hat Prince threw out into the audience? - US! Who did Prince ask to speak into the mike? - US! And best of all, who got the chance to look into those beautiful brown eyes all evening long - ONLY US!

Gotta give it up for the new Dodge Theater having a cool design that allows such intimacy! And security was awesome, heisting away within nanoseconds every cheater who tried to make their way to the stage. The music was just as smokin as I knew it would be, but I was really taken by the special treatment I received that night. I went to the concert alone but left feeling like a member of the Royal Family! I'll shout it from the top of South Mountain - NPGMC ROCKS!

P.S. I wasn't disappointed about not having an after party. Prince said he was tired during the sound check and he was understandably shaken due to the death of his friend - you gotta respect that. He's a smart man that has come into his own and realizes the importance of maintaining balance in his life - a lesson many of us need to learn.

Prince, thank you for your wonderful music, your right-on message and for preserving yourself so that you will be with us for many years to come. May you make your second home in the Valley of the Sun!

Peace, Love & Tranquillity

from Faith

First off I must thank the NPGMusicClub for allowing us (fam Members) to get the very best that Prince had to offer......Dead Center 1st row.......What a performance!....Not only did Prince, greet us as we entered the sound check, but allowed us to converse alittle....I have never been so close to Prince in all of the years I have been going to his shows...NPG allowed me to live my dream of seeing Prince Up Close and Personal..............After 3 + hours of performing, needless to say I couldnt even talk......My husband really enjoyed being as close as we were to the stage....And all of the Fam member that attended were so nice...........Leave it to Prince to take care of those who admire him most...THANKS NPGMUSICCLUB FOR AN AWESOME NIGHT..................

from Tamborine

All I can say is WOW!!! The soundcheck was amazing, to be able to relate to you in such a personal way was unbelievable. And as for the show, I was so moved, you brought me and my friends to tears. I have loved your music since before I new who Prince was. But I never got the opportunity to see a show until April 28, 1997, at the America West Arena in Phoenix. While camping outside for tickets I met some of the most incredible people. One of the people I met, who is now a great friend got me up front and that night and you touched my hand, It was a dream come true. I thought that nothing could compare to that first show, however you touched me in a different way this time you touched my heart and for that I can't thank you enough. My husband and my 12 year old daughter are fams and my 1 year old son is already bobbing his head to your jams. So thank you for being an inspiration, and thank you for an amazing evening that will never be forgotten. We all look forward to the Celebration this year. Until then Peace!

from svk1069

Just got back from the concert tonight in Phoenix- WOW!

Thanks Prince and thanks NPG!

People in Phoenix were wearing scuba gear tonight!!!

I have to share this story: I was seated next to a fam who really only new Prince from his '80's music. We were talking before the concert, and she told me that she only had two Prince albums, "Purple Rain" and "Diamond and Pearls." She was very excited to be seeing him, but I was worried what her reaction would be when Prince didn't play his usual parade of radio hits.

Well, she stood up and cheered all the way through the concert. After it was over, I asked what she thought. She told me that she had no idea of the power of music and love until seeing this concert. Obviously, Prince's message about harmony had got through to her. Prince really seemed to bond with the audience tonight (though it took awhile to really wake up this reserved crowd), and it showed in this fam. On the way out, she mentioned that she couldn't wait to get home and join the NPG Music Club.

Thanks again, Prince and the NPG, for providing a truly magical experience tonight.

from -whiteraven-

I want to be disappointed... but I'm not. It is 1:42 a.m. and I am sitting at my computer writing this message instead of jamming at an NPG afterparty. This concert was FANTASTIC. If you are a Prince fan and you are not an NPG Music Club member then you must be out yo' head. The opportunity to listen to Prince and the NPG play an hour long concert just for you and 150 other fans is well worth the C-note and the cost of the tickets. "If you don't know, you better ask somebody."

THE SOUNDCHECK (Approximately 1+ hours):
"See if your guitar works," asked a fellow NPG Music Club member. Prince said, "yes sir" and jammed for about 15-20 minutes with the Santana Medley which eventually ended in Last December. This is one small example of how well the Royal One treated his loyal subjects. To be in the first 5 rows of a Prince concert and be allowed to enjoy the show in your own way (mostly by dancing in the aisle) is probably the best perk of the NPG Music Club. Security let us dance and rush the stage (in an orderly fashion, of course) as long as we had the magic NPGMC wrist band. How many concerts can you attend where the true fans are catered to in this manner? ANYWAY...

This is the soundcheck setlist as I remember it:
Dorothy Parker -> Love 2 the 9s -> Madhouse (not sure which number - it IS almost 2AM after all) -> muse -> jam -> Girls and Boys -> jam -> Do U Lie? -> jam - Santana Medley -> jam -> Alexa De Paris (I think it was 331/3 speed, settling a debate Mr. Christopher and I have struggled with for 15 years) -> Last December

THE CONCERT (Approximately 3+ hours) Setlist:
Rainbow Children - 1+1+1 is 3 - Rollercoaster... of love.. say what - The Ride - Joni Mitchell Cover (performed stunningly by Rhonda Smith) -When U Were Mine - "Abraham Lincoln" - Family Name - Take Me With U - Raspberry Beret - Everlasting Now -mellow somewhere-ENCORE - solo piano Adore -> Diamonds & Pearls -> Adore -> Crucial? -> I Wanna Be Your Lover -> Nothing Compares 2 U -> Sometime it Snows in April -> I Love U But I Dont Trust U Anymore - Purple Rain - How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore - Anna Stesia

Mellow was in there somewhere and I am sure I missed another song or two. What can I say? I got caught up in the pure joy of the music and the performance. This is NOT another greatest hits medley tour. This is a true performance of Prince's spectacular new music interspersed with long-time fan favorites and some pop classics. The show and the comraderie of the other NPGMC members was amazingly energizing. I spoke with people from around the West Coast - Older fans (business attire, etc), younger fans (i.e: jailbait), and even Vampires (people with prosthetic fangs) - and felt comfortable with all of them. The Fam is all encompassing and all accepting. It is a wonderful experience to meet and speak with these diverse personalities who all love the same music.

I only wish that there had been an afterparty here in Phoenix. Prince and NPG, please return and bless us with an afterparty/aftershow. There are some good clubs in Phoenix for this. Please give us a chance. In closing...

To Prince and all the members of the band and crew and NPGMC managers: Thank you for a truly special experience.

Shoutout to the Vegas CarWash Couple, John, Family-Name White, and Mr. Christopher: Peace, see you at the next West Coast Show.

Without sounding like a broken record, I hope the people that aren't members see his fan club and the privilege it brings. JOIN! JOIN! JOIN! But, if you don't, just leaves the best seats at concerts for the fam. First, there were amazing people from all types of backgrounds that were just as devoted as I am. Then, everyone in the fam acted "normal," whatever that means. I saw a girl in the middle of the concert sneak up, like all cheaters do, to the stage and pull out a tiny digital camera and take a quick picture. I told the security, but it took him too long to understand what I was saying and the girl got away. I wanted to grab it from her and turn it in. Anyway, the music was awesome. The man gave a long show that had his old and new music. The band is tight, the horns were great. The whole show, he was only about five feet from all of the fam members, acknowledging us. At one point I thought he was going to hint about an aftershow, but he was too worn down from some bad news. I hope he realizes that the people in Phoenix are strong supporters, we are not conservative fools. We are people from all over, as of last year, I lived just outside Chicago in Gary. I know what the funk is all about. I hope the fam takes some initiative and keep his vision alive. The big guy that was called on stage and his wife were great, I was glad to see they live here in Phoenix. The innovator did it again, I just hope he does it again SOON!!!

Along with some of the others that have written about your concert last night in Phoenix, I must admit I was shocked and surprised at some of the subjects you spoke about in your songs. My sister and I enjoyed it very much and felt so uplifted it was emotional. We want to thank you for all the great changes you have made in your life and are still making and want to let you know you are setting a great example for us all. It is so true that we are so close to the "end" so to speak and need not take anything God does for us for granted. I really appreciated what you said in one of your songs about speaking out on the truth and the good news, for all people need to have the opportunity to hear about it. You accomplished your goal in more ways than you know and you kept it respectable and wonderful all night long. Thank you so much hope to see you in another concert soon keep up what you're doing and don't forget you have brothers and sisters in Arizona. Much love to you and your wife ... Cristina and Yanira

All I can say about the soundcheck and the show is: Simply the Best.
Thank You Prince for an unforgettable evening.

It had been 10 years since my wife and I last saw Prince, so we were more than ready last night's xperience. What a way to see the man! We were in the third row right in the center of the stage. That was the best thing about our club membership, but being surrounded by family members who love Prince as much as I do was something I'll never forget (the big guy in front, the guy wearing orange, the guy in purple - they were awesome). The soundcheck was a bit subdued because of Left Eye's death, but it was a dream come true having Prince and the band jam for us. It felt like having him and some friends come over to your house to crank up some real music. The show was fabulous. This was the fifth time I've seen Prince and I've been to many concerts, but I've never seen a whole crowd dance and get into a show the way it did last night. The 3 hours went by way too fast! All The Rainbow Children tunes were great, I loved Sometimes it Snows in April and will always remember 4,500 people coming together as one and singing "Love is God, God is Love, girls and boys love God above" with such passion. Prince has been my favorite musician since the day I first heard the Controversy album 20 years ago, and I simply tell people who don't follow him to give him a chance, listen to his word. What was amazing to my wife and I as we left last night was that Prince and his messages are as important now as they've ever been. And that's saying something big. Thanks Prince.

What can be said about this man? He continually delivers concerts that leave you breathless and wanting more. Thank you for the incredible show and the knowledge and "Harmony" you brought to us here in Phoenix. Your message was heard...at least by this fam, hopefully everyone in the room had the "scuba gear" on and went just as deep with you. Also, it being my fiance's first time seeing you, I think she was very impressed. Hopefully I've brought a new fam to the fam.

Condolences to your friend Lisa.

First and foremost I would like to thank Prince for making us, the members of the NPG Club who pre bought tickets, feel so privileged and special. I was the only person who was on stage with Prince during the sound check. I must say I almost cried when I looked into his eyes. Most of all I wanted Prince to know how his music has positively effected my life. I wanted him to know how I feel but my feelings cannot be put into words so I summed it up by saying, “Your music inspires my soul!”. I don’t think that this fully covers how his music makes me feel but it comes real close. Thank you again Prince and the NPG for making us feel like a true family.

I just can't begin to describe how I felt last nite. There is something so peaceful and soothing about Prince yet he had me up and dancing the entire nite! The soundcheck was amazing and I thought "how can it get any better??!!!"....Well, it did and it got better and better the entire nite. One thing that has always drawn me to Prince is his ability to speak and stand up for what he believes regardless of what others may think....this concert was a true confirmation of that and I was deeply touched by his messages. While I miss some of the old school Prince, I LOVE the new Prince and will forever be a fan! My friend and I met some great people at the concert and will never forget One Nite Alone with Prince...... Prince truly touched my heart both emotionally and spiritually......Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much......Peace and Harmony always.

WOW! What a truely amazing night it was with Prince and the NPG in Phoenix! Prince and the Band were all so cool and relaxed at the sound check, interacting with all of us fams. He started out on the floor WITH us, just listening to the band jam a bit, before getting up there himself to loosen up with a groove. Before the sound check was over, the NPG Music Club members in attendance heard run-throughs of The Ballad of Dorothy Parker, Strange Relationship, Last December, and a no-holds barred Santana Medley that had the strings on Prince's guitar SCREAMING fo' they mama! All this before 7pm... membership has its privledges. Second Row!!

The show itself was the best musical showcase I have ever seen. The energy, passion, and the love that everyone on that stage was putting out through their playing and performance permeated the farthest reaches of the theatre. It was a wonderful experience to be with so many good people and new friends, sharing in the moment. We did our best to return the love to the stage, but I just wanted to thank you again. Thank you for One Night Alone. Thank you for 2+ hours of creativity and joy. And thanks for hooking up your fams, the NPG Music Club members!

Unbelievable, amazing, incredible, fantastic, pleasing, peace... what adjective should I use first or better yet which one to leave out because so many come to mind.
Once Prince entertains you, there really is no better!
I feel like I have seen Hendrix, or maybe I have been sung to by an angel? I read a quote once that said "The voice of angels must be music" and after seeing this concert Prince does have the voice of an angel. Prince sang to us, oh did he sing, at times I wanted to cry it was so beautiful. Having seen several Prince concerts, I have always been blown away with his energy and talent like no other, yet, this was not what I expected. This concert was different, oh I was still in awe, but it was calmer, more focused, more intense. Prince has a new demeanor, a new outlook and he is sharing it freely. He talked about God, harmony, and some social issues we should all be aware of. We heard some new songs and some familiar songs but what hit me most was his message, love and harmony, we all need to agree in this world. Thank you for a night of beautiful music and showing me an amazing side of you and what you believe. If I could I would go to every show... but for now the memories won't soon fade.
Love 2 U always. Lorri in Phoenix

I must take a moment to profoundly thank you Prince... in a time when "Harmony" should never be underestimated nor ignored on infinite terms, you truly created a glorified and touching moment. The moment when "we" harmonized as "One" during the musical tone of "Purple Rain" is a moment that will reside and add empowerment within myself for the rest of my life... I often dream of a time when we all can unite... free to be ourselves, unified with others and the world (BIG DREAMS)... yet last night proved to me that dreams do indeed come true. (Smile... Enlightened breathe... sigh...) Our world and the people in which exist can gain much positivity in the beautiful essence in which you choose to follow and so graciously give.

My husband and I appreciate such a divine privilege, as I truly felt the rest did as well. My favorite/ cute moment (smile)... was when the gentleman seated directly in front of us asked you to make sure your guitar worked (during the soundcheck)... and you asked him to restate the question... (grin)... which he boldly did (wink), and you literally jumped onto your seat with a "Yes Sir" response (smile)... soilder like march... and proceeded to gain your guitar... I never tire viewing/feeling the emotion you reflect from within... with the utmost mastered artistic musical approach and style. Forever remain "Real" and "True" to yourself (as it already seems). Best wishes! Until the next time...

Peace and Liberty

P.s Thanks to the creation of the NPGMC and the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, a deeply appreciated experience. (Smile)

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to Prince and NPG Music Club for giving me and my friend Kathy a night to remember. We arrived at the Dodge Theatre at 4:00pm and there were already about 40 people in line ahead of us. We were standing in line next to a couple that came in from Los Angeles and they filled us in on how great the show at the Kodak Theatre was. Everyone was hyped up by the time we were allowed into the soundcheck at 5:40. (I felt so priviledged to get to sit in the front row) The band came out and started to jam. Prince surprised us by coming in from behind us in the theatre and jumping up on stage. We had a somber moment when Prince shared with us that he was having a hard time dealing with the news of his friend Lisa Lopes' death. He was visibly shaken when he told us of his sadness. Prince proceeded to give us just over an hour of an incredible "pre-concert" taking time to chat with us between the songs. He even invited my friend on stage but she was too nervous to go up with him. The actual concert lasted over two hours and was a spiritual musical experience. The membership to NPG Music Club was so worth it. Prince cattered to, and acknowledged the fam's all night long. The seats were incredible and we didn't have to pay the $600 that tickets were going for on ebay. I can't wait to get the music that comes from being a member but I already feel that I got my monies worth by being a member. Thanks again Prince for an incredible evening we will not forget.

Well, you brought the love and peace with you to Phoenix and you also brought it out of all of us. This was the most amazing concert that I have seen you and the NPG perform. Always exceptional. I was able to bring a friend that is a fan but has not been to a concert. I think she is still in shock. Five years is a long time to wait to hear such great music live and in person. You have done it again and left me without many words to describe what being at one of your performances is like. I have had a great number of years enjoying your music and now have a greater respect for what you are trying to accomplish. I hope that all of your fans at all of the concerts understand what you are conveying to them. It is a time that we now need to all get involved. I ask that it is not another 5 years before you make it to the Valley of the Sun. I hope to see you in June.

Heartfelt thanks 2 Prince and the NPG for an awesome night in Phoenix! Started with meeting other fam members in the wind and rain - which is a blessing in the desert - and just got better. Sound check was amazing - thanks 4 the opportunity! Closed with Anna Stesia - Wow! No words can really do the whole experience justice.
